If Benning and Linden reach the point where they want to move Edler he will be moved. I just don't think they see things the way most of us do. We could force him out but we might have to settle for a 2nd round pick.Tciso wrote:It's a list of 8 teams he cannot be traded to, so, it's not a big deal. He just doesn't want to play for a few crappy teams. going from 30 to 22 teams to work with doesn't change his value in a meaningful way.Hockey Widow wrote:I think the hype for trading Tanev now has to do with his NTC kicking in July 1st. Right now there are 30 teams, including Vegas, that we can deal him to.
I would be content to see Sbisa dealt. I would be real happy if Sbisa plus Edler were dealt and us keeping Tanev. But Tanev might bring back the best return.
We could afford to trade two LD moving forward. Keeping Tanev keeps our right side strong.
I still say we should expose Edler. But, if he isn't taken by Las Vegas, we are stuck with him...
Benning stated a few times he liked have a tough hard hitting Dman on each pairing and specifically named Edler, Gudbranson, and Sbisa. Left Trymankin off the list but that was very early in the season. So I just don't think Benning is where I'd like him to be in this regard. Hope he proves me wrong. I see that Tanev would bring a big return but I also think a healthy Tanev anchors our D.
But someone has to go. Wonder how Edler would feel if he was exposed, taken or not
