Blob is a tiny tiny tiny tiny bit negative on our beloved GM.
But we all fracking hate Toronto SN.
To come off pretending not to be biased really pisses me off. I may be a jackass but every time I hear them having financial troubles I love it. Maybe if they stopped sticking their heads up the Jays and Laughs ass they may get more people running in.
To hear that Laughs got a A for their FA day is pure bs.
The two big Alberta markets don't get as much "nose in the air" attitude as we do but they can't be happy about their regional studio being shut down either.
Hey, I'm not saying that Don Taylor & Garry Valk were a great show but this is ridiculous.
They have cut costs to the point of insanity.
How much can it cost to have a dinky little regional studio? That's all it was anyways, I know, I was in there once.
I understand running re-runs all night, I guess, however there are some entertaining programs they could be running at night but W/E.
During the day we have to watch their Toronto based talk shows which mean nothing to most of us.
The only reason they still technically call the two stations I'm referring to-(sportsnet pacific & sportsnet west), is to broadcast the local team's games. Not good enough!!!!!

Just so everyone knows, salary arbitration is not yet an option in regards to Bo Horvat.

I remember Doc saying be patient, this could go on til camp, but he thinks it will get done.
If there is too much difference between the sides, does anyone think he signs a one year?
I don't see it .

All the "cord cutting"" of late is filtering down to where it starts hurting I guess. I know about half of my friends have deleted their cable and run Kodi to watch the games.micky107 wrote:

A couple of friends and I share a Gamecenter account. Thanks to optic, With a few IP spoofers we just stream and don't notice any lag. Makes it nice when the team is on the road and games start at 4 or 5 PST. Was also nice this winter while I was on the east coast for a few months (other than games starting at 10 or 11 my time that is).Uncle dans leg wrote:All the "cord cutting"" of late is filtering down to where it starts hurting I guess. I pay SEK 349 (roughly CAD 53) for 100 mbs...
We put in optic fibre some 15 years ago; same time as we switched to district heating.
They had a package deal, so adding fibre got cheaper.

The CFL is certainly amateur. Speaking of spending a nickel....... isn't that about the average price for a Lions ticket ?ukcanuck wrote:I agree but as long as we have blobbers who believe automatically that because it's local it must amateur night, why would sportsnet.ca spend a nickel they don't have too?micky107 wrote:Your not a jackass at all and your not the only one that's frustrated. Our town got fibre optic last year because the Canadian gov't is paying the telecoms to get rural areas up to speed. It's taking time to reach everywhere, but slowly it is happening.ESQ wrote:Well, if that's what a socialist government gets you, then sign me up!Per wrote:Sheesh! Yes, I worked with one of these telecoms the last few years to expand to the first dozen or so of these rural communities.Topper wrote:Our town got fibre optic last year because the Canadian gov't is paying the telecoms to get rural areas up to speed. It is happening slowly and those that have gotten fibre, are happy as pig in sh*t. I also wonder if those towns that built their own network earlier are now regretting it?

Darryl Seward named #Canucks new Video Coach.
Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Travis Green confirmed today that Darryl Seward has been named Video Coach. Seward will work alongside Green, Assistant Coaches Newell Brown, Nolan Baumgartner, Doug Jarvis and Manny Malhotra, Goaltending Coach Dan Cloutier and Skill Coach Glenn Carnegie.
"Darryl has a passion for the game and brings experience to the role, highlighted by a Calder Cup Championship in 2016," said Green. "We are excited to welcome Darryl to our staff and to the organization."
Seward, 44, joins the Canucks from the AHL Cleveland Monsters where he has served as Video Coach for two seasons, helping the team to the 2016 Calder Cup. Prior to joining the Monsters, Seward had stints as Video Coach with the Springfield Falcons (2014.15) and Syracuse Crunch (2012.13).
Prior to his professional career, Seward served as Assistant Video Coach for the QMJHL Moncton Wildcats from 2008 to 2012, where he helped the club capture the 2010 President's Cup.
