Not sure if this was posted, but looks like the earliest for Seattle is 20-21.

2 years out.

Read it on NHl.com

Canucks travel schedule should be a helluva lot better with Seattle in our division.

VAN, SEA, LAK, ANA, SJS, EDM, CAL, VGK.

Central: COL, AZ, CHI, DAL, MIN, NSH, STL, WPG.

Seattle NHL is a go!
Gary Bettman & the Executive Committee have recommended Seattle NHL expansion.
Gary Bettman says exec committee gave recommendation to board of governors to proceed with Seattle #NHL franchise
"Seattle is ready for NHL hockey. Tod Leiweke and his group have set an incredible foundation for the league in this city with a legitimate arena plan."
Seattle mayor Jenny Durkan says they want to open play in 2020 and says the NHL "wants that, too."

Seems the Leaves and Canucks aren't too bad, but holy fuck are the Flames corrupt. $0.30 of every dollar donated going to charity work while racking up $8 million in cash reserves They probably think a Saddle Dome replacement with wheel chair access is an acceptable use of funds.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Sad to see this but the numbers can be mis-leading.

I agree Tops what is Calgary thinking?

NHL deal with MGM is non exclusive, so more gaming deals are open. The NFL Jets just completed a seperate deal with MGM to promote MGM's app for side bets.

How much money can the leagues launder?

So many opportunities to make money behind the scenes imo.

And the analytics used and provided by the NHL to MGM will be a metrics geeks dream it sounds like.
Bettman dismissed concerns that NHL players could be persuaded to gamble on or even throw games.

"We monitor all of the games," said Bettman. "Through third party resources. We watch what goes on, whether or not betting lines shift and the like ... It hasn't been an issue and we don't anticipate it being an issue."

Scott Butera, MGM Resorts' president of interactive gaming and a former Arena Football League commissioner, outlined how the puck and playing tracking data will help bettors.

"If I know one player is faster than the other, if I know one expends less energy than the other, if I know one has a faster slap shot than the other, it gives me information that I can bet," he said. "If I'm betting on who will score the most goals, I have that tool. Ultimately when enough data is collected on that, we'll be able to actually bet on that data itself. So you could have a bet on which player's going to have the highest average slap shot throughout the game."

When can the NHLPA re-open the CBA, cause I’m thinking the players might want a piece of this pie.

lock out just when the Canucks are getting good again...

I looked into this, the gaming deals are "hockey-related revenue", so 50% of the money goes to the players via a raised cap.

Still, I wonder if it'll be enough, even with the salary cap now having doubled in 12 years of a hard-cap, to avoid another lockout. Certainly the PA is rattling its sabres for cancelling the CBA next season, but to me that would be very foolish.
