Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate! (And personal insult thread)
Agreed. Even if the team went out next game and played .800 hockey to end the year it's still a season where too many teams have under performed.
And let's be honest, the Canucks need to play at that level to hit 93 points, which would be tied for the third lowest points total to land a wild card spot since they went to the wild card system. Minnesota got in with 87 points in 2015/16, and Dallas got in with 91 in 2013/14. Other than that 94 points has been the minimum, and 95-97 seems to be the average league-wide.....the western conference seems to have been consistently lower by 2-4 points.
It's hilarious really. Minnesota sits in the final WC spot, a single point up on us and with one game in hand.....and they've been brutal, losing badly, and going 2-5-3 in their last 10 while we've gone 3-6-1. Had we actually stepped up and played even .500 hockey the Canucks would be 2 points up with more wins and holding the tie breaker in the even that Minnesota wins the game in hand that they hold. Everyone in the WC race coming out of the All-Star break sucked all at the same time, while teams that were looking to be tits up already have clawed their way into the mix and now it's a 5-horse race.....6 if Anaheim heats up, which they have the ability to do.

Good point, Jimmy's only hope is that they switch from a voting system... to a straight up IQ test.

For an outta towner tri-city man - Blob seems to know every seedy and sordid nook and cranny of the downtown Vancouver core i.e. - the Dufferin, Astoria, Cobalt like the back of his hand. Ya just know that ole Doyles McKenzie has dipped his wart covered cone into some nasty swamp ass resembling that of Bianca Andreescu’s Mom

Hargraves is definitely a colourful personality with a colourful past. However he isn’t the mouthwash swilling, shadow boxing, rock smoking mess that now calls himself a Chef. Chef... his idea of making spaghetti is some veneer noodles in a box slathered with ketchup and velveeta slices melted on top. A real Chef here folks... I used to trip over the Chef’s carcass when heading downtown to party and he’d tell me that his dry walling gig was on its way up and that he scored some new clients. Looking at the impetigo on his grill and the bruises all over his chicken limbs, he wasn’t scoring new clients unless he meant the sketchy hookers he was wrasslin’ with. I’d always give him a high five and tell him to hang in there and he’d wish me a Merry Christmas even if it was July.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 5:10 pm For an outta towner tri-city man - Blob seems to know every seedy and sordid nook and cranny of the downtown Vancouver core i.e. - the Dufferin, Astoria, Cobalt like the back of his hand. The Cobalt was a fun place back in the day. the other two I didn't get to nearly as often.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 5:10 pm For an outta towner tri-city man - Blob seems to know every seedy and sordid nook and cranny of the downtown Vancouver core i.e. - the Dufferin, Astoria, Cobalt like the back of his hand. When traveling in Singapore, I was at a high end hotel that did laundry. My Cobalt t-shirt came back pressed, starched and wrapped - I kept it like that for years.
