So what did JB do with this 2nd round pick? I noticed that we didn't make a 2nd round selection in the 2015 draft. Did he trade it?
The second was given away in the Bonino trade.

The second was a gift by Elmer for taking Sutter off of Rutherford’s hands.

One of my favourite memories - Bubbles rage over the Lack trade, mind you, his rage over the Shinkaruk trade and 2nd for Baertshi are up there as well

In regards to a new contract for JB. Some think it is not in the cards but I am beginning to think it still may well be.
This is the first time for the Canucks having to hammer out a contract to a GM in this manner, meaning, the guy between the Owner and the GM.
That would be Trevor.
I see no reason to look at these negotiations any differently than a player & agent.
They may be debating over term, money and jurisdiction of responsibility.
Benning may feel he needs a certain amount of any of the above to do his job effectively.
Maybe the right mix hasn't happened yet.
Maybe it could even be, not a matter of Jim getting canned but of him saying I'm leaving because my hands are too tied.
We will see.

Contrary to what you might expect, I am quite hoping that Benning is re-signed.

If he isn't, we'll never know whether the (alleged) Master plan could have come to fruition and yielded a Masterpiece.

His acolytes will post about nothing but What Could Have Been. It will be like hanging out with a bunch of Trotsky-ites or Confederate Lost Causers.

In the opinion of any (or all) of his supporters, how much longer do we need to run the Benning experiment to draw definitive conclusions ?

I want to get this straight: If Benning is not retained, to what extent is the Canucks performance in the 2018/2019 season attributable to his work so far ?

Also, please address the question of how many more seasons you think we need to provide a fair assessment of Benning's work.

The way the benning boys go on you'd hope they would be slightly better than 4th worst out of 31 working on their 3rd season of being a bottom 3 team

Who?

Everyone including Blob has said he deserves 1-2 years extension.

Some said they wouldn’t be surprised if he is gone.

My caveat is that if Julien Brisebois or Paul Fenton aren’t available or interested incoming here then I am ok with giving Elmer another 1-2 yrs.
