When traveling in Singapore, I was at a high end hotel that did laundry. My Cobalt t-shirt came back pressed, starched and wrapped - I kept it like that for years.

Classic ole Doyle upstairs at the Astoria after a Canucks game with his sweaty red apple face from a night on the glass dick trying to muster up a boner that ain’t there while a transgender hooker works madly at it while his buddy’s are working the rock into the pipe watching and waiting there turn.

Should we take this time to discuss the Genius of Jim Benning, Docs on the money 1-2 year prediction and Doyles on going weight issue and height shrinking, not to mention the expanding real estate of his bald spot?

Even if they qualified for post season this year, Doc was out by one season. He said they’d make it last seasonChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 6:35 am Should we take this time to discuss the Genius of Jim Benning, Docs on the money 1-2 year prediction.

Right or wrong... I, for one was lifted up by Doc’s predictions after too many years of horrendous hockey.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:10 amEven if they qualified for post season this year, Doc was out by one season. Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate! (And personal insult thread)
It was a good season and a reason for optimism. It’s a shame they didn’t get to finish but them’s the breaks. Originally I had them as making it in next season so if they made it, I also would have been out by one season. That said, after a solid summer for management, I did predict playoffs for this year and 96 points.rats19 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:24 amRight or wrong... All in all a positive season and finally some reasons to be optimistic about the future.

Somewhere on here is a poll about when we all thought the team wold make the playoffs. I think I picked 20/21
Some were earlier.. most were a little later

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate! (And personal insult thread)
I have thought the Canucks were going to make the playoffs each and every season since 1982 when Roger Nielsen created towel power.
Before that I was only slightly sceptical.
Mind you I have also thought they’ll win the cup each season, too.
I’ve learned to live with disappointment.
So it goes without saying, I was easily convinced Benning was a genius as soon as he got the job, but then again, at the time, I also thought Bill Laforge was going to take us to the promised land.
So, as they say, ignorance is bliss.
I really don’t know what that means, but I feel very happy.

Like most, I went with this year.
2018-19 - 11 - 29%
2019-20 - 18 - 47%
2020-21 - 8 - 21%
2021-22 - 0 - No votes
2022-23 - 0 - No votes
after we're all dead and buried - 1 - 3% (Doyle?)

Please keep in mind that poll was from 1.75 years ago.
Meanwhile, the Great Strangelove made his prediction 5 years ago (and stuck to it!)
... at a time when many had given up all hope.
