Jake Virtanen
Jake Virtanen is starting to remind of Jamie Benn. He seems to have a similar game. Speed, passing, a shot, goes to the dirty areas and is a little mean. This could be great if he's brought along properly.

Jake reminds me a bit of Adam Deadmarsh, but it would be great if he turns out to be more of an Owen Nolan.

Great, I'll start calling him Jamie Virtanen. Jamie for short.Strangelove wrote:Agreed, nice first post!micky107 wrote:Jake Virtanen is starting to remind of Jamie Benn. Better than '40-Watt', even if he warrants it from time to time.Hockey Widow wrote:Great, I'll start calling him Jamie Virtanen. He graduated to 60 watt. With plenty of hope to make 100 watt if his good play continues. I'm fair that way.Lancer wrote:Better than '40-Watt', even if he warrants it from time to time.Hockey Widow wrote:Great, I'll start calling him Jamie Virtanen. Yep. I'm preparing myself to eat crow over stuff I said earlier this season.
His possession game has steadily improved throughout the year, and he's starting to click offensively too. Remains to be seen what his ceiling is, but my opinion of him has changed dramatically over the last two months.

Re: Jake Virtanen
Jake Virtanen scored two goals tonight in a 4-1 win, both shots, one a one timer snipe and one a seeing eye shot wrister snipe. Jake has been playing a lot better!
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

Kid Rock With a Haircut might get to third line AHL status this year. Keep on keeping on Kid Sweet home Abbotsford All Summer Long.

I'm not going to defend this mufuka till I see and hope Virtanen do better over the long offseason, plus come to camp in tip top shape, he has all the trainers/money/cooking prep advice to be in elite shape by September.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
