Saw Anton Rödin have a goal and an assist as he captained Brynäs to a 6-3 win against Malmö last night as the SHL season started,

Is he still tied to the Canucks organisation?

I believe that he remains a RFA in the Vancouver organization

Hmmm upon further review, I believe you are right.

It appears your Canucks did qualify him before he jumped ship.

I had read a recent Canucks Army story that mentioned:

"Rodin was released from his contract."

^ It appears that article is definitely wrong and lostinarink is right.

EDIT yup: https://twitter.com/BradZiemer/status/3 ... 4466500608

@BradZiemer
Besides Tanev and Weise, #Canucks also qualified Jordan Schroeder, Bill Sweatt, Kellan Lain, Anton Rodin, Darren Archibald & Yann Sauve. 2:21 PM - 2 Jul 2013

Iirc, Anton's skills and skating were never in question. Rather, it was his size and ability to adjust to the North American game that stalled his development.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Makes sense. Even though he had a good game against Malmö, he got knocked over a couple of times, and considering that there is more physicality in the North American game, I guess that could still be a problem.

OK, never mind then.

He signed the standard three year entry level deal prior to coming to NA, but only fulfilled two years in the AHL before he headed back to Sweden.

Would he be an RFA if he opted to return to NA, or would he have to play out his existing contract?

Rödin is having a great season so far though. After six games, he has five goals and four assists, and those nine points have him in first place in SHL scoring.

Of note also that Pathrik (I can't believe he spells it like that) Westerholm has six points in six games (2G, 4A) and is in the top twelve in scoring. Both Westerholm twins currently play for Brynäs, same as Anton Rödin.

Damnit! Rödin holding on to that first place.
Now at 16 points (8G, 8A) in10 games.

Henrik Tömmernes now in 9th place, with 11 points (1G, 10A) in ten games.
Not too shabby for a blueliner. 8-)
