This has certainly surprised me. Did Bonino learn what it takes to have success in the playoffs by getting pounded by the Flames? Did he use that experience to figure it out? If so, good for him.... and shitty for your typical long term Canuck fan.

He played well in the playoffs for Anaheim too. Bonino was miscast here as a matchup guy , not to mention he had to carry around the likes of Vrbata and Vey for long periods of time.Puck wrote:This has certainly surprised me. So if it's not ability that was the reason for Bonino stinking the joint out here in the playoffs against the Flames then it must've been "heart" I mean Horvat, Burrows and Hansen showed heart in that series? Why couldn't Bonino? Oh yeah right, wasn't used right, I get it now

Re: Canucks land Brandon Sutter and 3rd round pick
I was comparing Bonino to Sutter. Bonino has been a far better playoff performer than Sutter despite making a fraction of the pay Sutter gets. I'm glad you're happy paying a tall, soft , skinny 3rd line player 4.5 million a year for the next five years. Did Eye Bags give him the nmc ?RoyalDude wrote:So if it's not ability that was the reason for Bonino stinking the joint out here in the playoffs against the Flames then it must've been "heart" I mean Horvat, Burrows and Hansen showed heart in that series? Bonino isn't much of an 82 game guy with his effort, comes and goes.
Lots of guys shine in the playoffs out of nowhere but having said that, not sold on Sutter. Good PK third line guy, I guess, maybe, sort of, well, not great....

You don't seem to realize that Bonino has been completely CARRIED by Kessel + Hagelin.Blob Mckenzie wrote: Lol spoke too soon. Bonino has blown Sutter away in the playoffs. He's probably more physical too.
Any Penguin fan will tell you that, they have no respect for Bonino, to wit:
"probably more physical too"
Anything to make your GM look bad eh Boob?
3 goals in 17 games (one of those into an empty net) yeah he's riding coattails on the Pens...
You hated Bonino when he was here and liked the trade so shove it all the way up your IN hole mmmkay?

Yeah well ummm 12 points in 24 games is nothing special when you're the #2 centre....Blob Mckenzie wrote: He played well in the playoffs for Anaheim too.

Sutter is one of the very best PKers in the league, and has always played Top-6 minutes...

Lol .5 points per game is a LOT better than Stick Mans production which is 29 points per 82. Bonino scores at a 52 point pace per 82 in the playoffs. Almost double Sutter.Strangelove wrote:Yeah well ummm 12 points in 24 games is nothing special when you're the #2 centre....Blob Mckenzie wrote: He played well in the playoffs for Anaheim too.
It's hilarious to see you defend what is right in front of people's eyes.

Re: Canucks land Brandon Sutter and 3rd round pick
Bonino has just had a HUGE boost to his playoff numbers due to Kessel + Hagelin.
You should read what I "just placed right before your eyes".
Bonino has been placed in a prime position to rack up assists
... Sutter has always been placed in a shut-down role in the playoffs.
But regardless, Sutter still has more goals-per-playoff-game than Bonino.

Re: Canucks land Brandon Sutter and 3rd round pick
Bonino has almost double the production in ppg that Sutter does. Bonino is 30 pounds heavier and marginally weaker in the dot and on the pk. Bonino makes 1.75 million, Sutter makes 4.5. Sutter skates fast , whoopee. He is as gritty as Morgan Fairchild.
