Draft Day 2015: Picks & Trades
Thought it might be easier to keep it all here, well except for Canuck's moves which will generated about 100 threads
On The Buffalo/Ottawa deal. If Buffalo gets a Lehner that ends up being a Bishop they win this trade. It may take a few years as the rest of the team is re-built and develops. Legwand's adds leadership and helps them get to the cap floor.mbut if Lehner continues with injury concerns or fails to develop, well we know what that means.
Eichel apparently has said he will only sign if he is guaranteed to be full time in the NHL, otherwise his preference is to finish his last year at college. Now obviously I don't know his exact wording around this.

Avs sign Soderberg, 5 years at 4.75 per.
The contract is worth $23.75 million and includes a full no-trade clause for the first two years and a limited NTC after that.
They will end up getting a decent return from ROR.

Lucic confirms Vancouver on his list of teams he has agreed to waive too. Although rumours also say there are 15 teams on his list so he could be playing with the media. This doesn't bring him any closer to the Canucks just internet confirmation that he would waive to play here.

Then Miller would demand a trade out of town.Hockey Widow wrote:Lucic confirms Vancouver on his list of teams he has agreed to waive too. That would at least solve the goaltending quandary.

Carrie Underwood stays in Nashville for two years for $8.8 million
Tafoli re-ups with LA 2 years, $6.5 million

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Ferland would run Miller in the home opener and Lucic would beat the shit out of him. Miller and Lucic would be best buds.
Also, Bieksa has agreed to waive to San Jose according to Elliot Friedman.
Buffalo taking Lehner seems risky, but they do add strong leader in Legwand. It's a chance for Lehner to grow into a starter role with other young players. This trade hurts us IMO, as I think that Buffalo was probably our best trading partner for Lack if we wanted another pick in the 1st round. No matter what though, I think that any deal involving Lack and Talbot will now cost the buyer a 1st round pick as both of them have better numbers than Lehner.
Re: Draft Day 2015: Picks & Trades
^ I like Lack though, so I'm kind of happy he isn't doomed to fail in Buffalo.

Re: Draft Day 2015: Picks & Trades
The first was the 21st so although it is a first it isn't top 10 or 15. My point is that teams looking for our goalie are not giving up anything better than the 21. We may end up with a decent second and something else, a little else. But I think a package of Lack plus is still our best chance for a better return. Just because Buffalo is stupid doesn't mean other GMs are.
Hearing Bieksa has agreed to waive to more than just SJS. Heard one other team but also heard three teams altogether. One source I know, knows what's up but isn't talking. So who knows until it's done.

The word from GOD above is that Lucic has told Bruins that he won't resign with them next summer and wants to sign in PARADISE aka Van City and GMJB wants him now but is willing to wait until July 2016 if the price is too high. PTL!
Re: Draft Day 2015: Picks & Trades
I didn't mean that Lack or Talbot are worth a 1st. Just that a package including them is worth a pick 20-30.Hockey Widow wrote:The first was the 21st so although it is a first it isn't top 10 or 15. Fingers crossed that Boston is one of the teams interested in Bieksa and something can get done that brings Looch this way.
If Benning can do a deal that sends Lack out of town and grabs another 1st rounder pick, I would be OK with him turning the lower pick around to the Bruins in something that brings Lucic to Vancouver.....especially if it means keeping Kassian too.
Re: Draft Day 2015: Picks & Trades
Chiarelli on record saying he will not give up the 16th overall pick for a goaltender.
Could all be smoke and mirrors as usual, but I think that effectively takes Edmonton out of the goalie hunt in any kind of one-for-one trade.

Re: Draft Day 2015: Picks & Trades
If this is true, Lack by himself should at least be a low 1st round pick.Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
NYR are looking for the best overall package, even though a 1st round pick for Talbot is attractive.

Interesting out of Buffalo:
They didn't think they could get a trade anywhere near as good as the one with Ottawa so they pulled the trigger. Wonder if it is just post trade rhetoric or if it is a true indication of what's going on with goalies right now.

I think the next to fall, Lack or Talbot could be the expensive one, after that, desperation creeps in for the seller. Sather probably less worried about holding his goalie than Benning.Hockey Widow wrote:Interesting out of Buffalo:

Post-trade rhetoric. Think about how thrilled they were (the next day) to get the chance to draft Jack Eichel over McDavid.Hockey Widow wrote:Interesting out of Buffalo:
