Nothing too surprising.

The over-reaction from fans just shows how much people in general overvalue the assets they own.

Can't wait until July 1st!!!

Good luck Lack! You could always come back as a free agent!

On a plus note, we get to have a M&M tandem next season for fun :D

I love the title from that article:
Canucks worse, less likeable after Lack trade
How is this even possible?

Oh's no Mr Bill, they traded away a nice guy.

They might as well pack up the team and move it to Vegas - this can't stand.

We haven't had the chance to do that in a long time, clearing out the decks at the deadline being out of the playoff picture. Probably won't happen until the twins retire so we will have a few more years of mediocrity until then. The worst time to trade players for picks is at the draft but it's the only time we seem to do it. Hopefully somebody will learn this at some point.
I dunno, Diehard. I'm getting the feeling we could be sellers as soon as this season.
Agreed, I think this season might be the one as well. Depends on what Jim does over the next few days and weeks, but as is I don't see this team as much of a contender. The problem is they will still probably be right around the cutoff for playoffs, meaning he will hold on to assets at the deadline. It's a bit of a no win situation for us as fans - they are either terrible and we trade assets, or they are decent and we tread water. Neither is all that desirable.

If they are terrible, however, guys like Hamhuis, Vrbata, Bieksa, etc will have a ton of value at the deadline to contenders. I'm not sure they will all be here to start this season, Bieksa specifically, but we would get nice returns on whoever we decided to trade.

Now that Jim's laundry is on the line, it would be best to cut bait

No way Kevin is in the lineup come October. JB doesn't seem to hang on to guys once they're ticket is punched

Lol no doubt. Everyone I know hates the nux except my Swedish family in-law. That'll probably change soon too seeing as we didn't draft any new ones...

I always get a kick out of posters who call others who have a different opinion part of the urine crew, then the rest of the sheep pile on.

I guess I go by the old adage of the one that talks the most is usually the biggest one of all.

Maybe I am not sure what a urine crew is anymore.

Seems anytime someone doesn't like what someone else writes they are called urine crew.

I don't think Benning is dumb but I do wonder if they could of gotten more for Lack but it takes 2 to tangle and who was their dance partner.

I think if Buffalo had not gotten Lehner they were lined up to trade for Lack and their second was in play. Linden and Benning both said they were hopeful they could land the 31st.

Would have been a different day had we landed the 31st for Lack and the 39th from SJS for Bieksa. But in the end it didn't happen. Sorry to see Lack go but it was inevitable and I am glad it won't drag on all summer. Benning can finish his work on re-signing Markstrom and concentrate on trading Bieksa.

You know if there was a better offer tabled they would have grabbed it, for both Lack and Bieksa. Much happier having a GM that identifies who he is moving then does it. That was one of my criticisms of MG, he just could never seem to pull the trigger when he had to, like he was afraid of making a mistake.
