Round 3, 2015 playoffs
So it's down to four.
Chicago vs Anaheim.
Never count the Hawks out, a familiar refrain. This team, like the team that took them to their first cup in a zillion years, will probably need to be somewhat dismantled in the off season. That was a rallying cry for the Hawks then as is now. This team sees when a window is lowering and that seems to help rally them. Plus they have a boatload of talent.
The Ducks haven't faced a team that can score thus far in the playoffs. They, on the other hand, seem to be able to get just enough to win, when they need it. It's like they have a stop and start switch. A tough, talented team that can roll four lines to match the Hawks.
Goaltending, slight edge to Anaheim, only because Chicago goaltending has been hot and cold. But Crawford seems to have settled.
I'm going with the Ducks in 7.
NYR vs Tampa.
Can Bishop remain tall? Is this the series they let Druin loose? Has Stamkos found is playoff game?
Will Nash find his playoff scoring? Can Lunquist keep up this MVP like performance? Is Boyle done?
Another close series where Bishop will have to have a Holtby like performance for the Bolts to advance.
My heart says Tampa but I think the Rangers in 5.

I want the Rangers to win only because of AV

Ducks or Hawks win the cup.
Only 1 eastern team has won the cup in the past 5 years.
Nothing will change this year.
Yes, Rummy, I still don't think he's a good playoff coach.

AV is the only coach to lose to an Eastern team in the SCF in the past 5 years. As soon as he heads to the east, he can't beat the west.okcanuck wrote:I want the Rangers to win only because of AV

NHL needs a fresh change in the cup final, tired of the same ol' rangers/kings/blackhawks in the finals every year.
Lightning vs Ducks would be a killer series.

Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Re: Round 3, 2015 playoffs
I wonder if there is any truth to the rumour that the NHL scheduled Sunday's game to deliberately conflict with the World's gold medal game? Seems to be gaining internet traction that the scheduling of afternoon games this weekend was a surprise to a lot of people and the NHL wants their product to be the one watched. No idea how true it is but I love conspiracy theories.
TSN has received a lot of praise for their coverage. Wonder if Rogers is trying to go toe to toe in hopes of cutting their viewership. Rogers wants international hockey and it's the one piece TSN still has.

Rags in 6. If Stamkos ever wakes up, that may change but New York is just too solid.
Ducks in 7. This really could go either way, and I would love nothing better than to see Kesler cry after bowing out in the WCF,but IMO Anaheim is just too deep.

I watched AV's press conference after game seven. As much as I hate the Rangers (and that well pre-dates '94), I'm finding it hard to cheer against AV - he's too likable. The Bolts are probably a more interesting match-up in the final, but

I'm pulling for Chicago and Tampa, but only because I need them to advance to stay near the top in my playoff pool.
If the Rags win then I want the Ducks to advance. Everyone is all about AV it seems, fuck him. Mr Stick to My Plan No Matter What..... He can't beat teams like LA and Anaheim. The Rangers can handle Chicago though.

There could be some poetry for the Rangers with AV beating the Ducks with Kesler!
