Pretty much, although I really do want to see Vey move back to wing permanently.
Kenins may be in the process of making Dorsett expendable.
I figure Benning knows he has too many bodies for next year so will be very active around the draft. At least one of Matthias and Dorsett will be re-signed which will add even more players. Benning will make some trades to recoup picks and continue to get younger, and that also assumes none of the young picks make the team which may or may not be true.
Guys like Biega and perhaps Pedan will have a chance to make it next year as well on D. This also assumes no new signings which isn't likely.
In short the lineup above won't be what we see next year - Benning has an idea of what he needs to improve and will make spurt her changes. Keep getting younger, more skilled and hopefully better seems to be the idea.

If Green can help him regain his confidence it could be a good thing. He was thrilled with the move and seemed to have no problem reporting directly tonUtica. I thinks he busts his balls the rest of the year and comes to camp with something to prove.the fact it could bite Calagary just makes it more intriguing.

Lack for a 2nd or 3rd
Higgins for a 2nd Vey for a 4th
Jensen for a 3rd or 4th
Do you really think Benning would do that? I'd be shocked to see him admit trading for Vey was a mistake. Maybe he gets dumped in a package, then at least JB can say "that was the cost, didn't want to give him up" etc. etc.
The rest I can definitely see. I also wouldn't be surprised if, depending on the offers, Burrows and Hansen are shopped. I don't see enough space for Burrows, Higgins, Hansen and Matthias. Too many tweeners. Plug Baertschi into a top-6 hole, and you've got the Sedins/Kassian, Bart-Bones-'bata.

What LA did with Vey was quite impressive - they turned a 3rd round pick into a 2nd round pick. The Canucks did a similar upgrade with Baertschi - turned our 2nd round pick into the Flames 1st round pick.
Vey actually had a really good year for a rookie. If he was on a less-deep team and got 1st unit PP time the whole year, he'd probably be over 40 points. As it is, with his very limited minutes and offensive opportunity, he's turned in a very nice rookie season.
I can't imagine Vey's stock has dropped so much from being worth a 2nd RP to a 4th, and I doubt JB makes that trade.
Jensen for a 3rd or 4th would be pretty shitty too - a massive downgrade of a 1st RP, but that's probably what Jensen fetches on the market.
I understand what you are saying Herb but I still think if JB has to jettison players it will most likely be the prospects that were here before him. It smells less of a loss that way.
Vey has had an ok rookie season but he is as inconsistent as Zachary. One game he tries to play physical, well physical for him, and holds his own. Next game he completely avoids any contact. He can be a turnover machine as well. The shot he missed last night was a tough break though, he has been pretty good at burying those type of chances.
Contract talks will play a large role in who we keep. Sven needs a new deal and didn't Vey sign a one year deal?
As for trading a goalie, I don't know how you trade Lack without seeing evidence that Markstrom can play in the NHL. Somehow WD has got to get him games.

I didn't love this guy before, but he's played his way into another contract. God knows I'd rather watch him try to scores goals than Burrows, Higgins, and Hansen who are all known to go through huge droughts.
You need to make room for guys with speed, size and a bit of spark.
I don't think anyone will disagree with you that the Canucks should do everything possible to keep Matthias, but the problem is how much it will cost.
Just did a "stats" read on ESPN.. comparing Hansen and Mathias. This year they got the same points (27) , both have played 7 seasons but Hansens 7 season stats are way better.. My thinking is keep Hansen and if Mathias wants a big contract let him walk. 1 good season maybe just a fluke.. On the other hand if he can be signed for a reasonable amount keep them both if cap permits..

@ElliottPap
Rich Evans, agent for pending Nux UFA Shawn Matthias, says no talks right now. "I’m sure we’ll have discussions at some point." #Canucks
Max I'd go is $3M per, or maybe the Atkins contract of $3.5M per.
Earlier in the season before Matthias 'breakout' he'd probably only get $2M per, geez what a contract year does to a player! Evans just enjoying this right now, it's lucky Matthias didn't get severely more injured when he got that head shot from Robidas elbow.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
10 mill for four years for Matthias would be sweet, but it's not gonna happen now. Coulda happened before he started scoring hat tricks.
We need his kind of player going forward though, so I guess we should pony up.
Sign Tanev, trade a goalie, trade Higgins, hope Vey improves on his elementary school strength levels, let Richardson walk--Horvat and Matthias make him expendable. Keep Dorsett for the dirty asshole factor, unless he wants a big raise. Guy gets way too much ice-time from the denture-tosser.
You fellows really need to learn how to keep shit on topic.
