No.

Smells like a career AHLer to me, there must be some ulterior reason for keeping him on the roster.

He's a Torontonian who spent 2 years in Mother Russia.

I don't like him.

Lol at Stranglelove snapping on Todd.

So being imprisoned for all of training camp, what's the general consensus on Alex Edler? How has he looked? Any signs of a bounce back to top form?

Have to think we really need him back if we hope to compete with the Cali teams. Without him its gonna be a long season me thinks...

He's been injured and then was rather shitty in his first game back yesterday.

Too soon to say really. (unless one is a bedwetter)

What did ZK do to be rewarded?

All I saw of him was inconsistent play. One good followed by two bad.

Does he get a doggy biscuit for that?

A vet has earned the respect that he'll learn from a mistake, a kid needs to learn that mistakes are punished and making the same mistake several times lands you in the doghouse.

I believe Clam was saying ZK should have been "rewarded" with more icetime than he actually received.

I saw two good followed by one bad (we're talking last half of last season).

No, but he shouldn't have been smacked so many times with a rolled-up newspaper either.

The leash has been too short on this mutt IMMO.

Clam is laughably on record of wanting 1st line minutes with the twins.

Then obviously the treatment he was receiving was working if his play was improving.

Lengthen the leash but replace the collar with a noose.

Semantics and analogies aside.... what were we talking about again? :mex:

I'll just say right here and now that I'll have Mr Kassian on my team every day of the week.

Top 6, well we'll see, bottom 6, fine by me.

$1.75m cap-hit for the next two years is just fucking awesome by me.

I can see folks picking on my buddy Burrows, but this one I just don't get....

I guess all I was originally saying is that I hope the growing pains and teenage laziness burns off and he becomes a force. Don't care what line either.

PS I'd still make the Cody trade. Full stop!

I don't think people are picking on him Strange. I'm not, anyway. IMNMO (not-mod) it seems to me as though this is a big year for Kassian in terms of figuring out if he is a top 6 or bottom 6 player.

Going forward it would be pretty gosh darn nice if he could become a consistent top 6 threat, seeing as the twins are 34 and there are no guarantees vis a vis Jensen, Horvat, Shinkaruk, Virtanen, etc.

O'Reilly is injured and cannot be demoted until healthy.

I think we'll see Kassian excel this season. 40 points for sure. Not #1 forward points or performance, but the start of a good 2nd liner. He made some big improvements last season in his game. Having a coach that is not insane should help him along as well. It is really going to depend if he and Bonino can mesh as linemates, and if they can keep the same winger on that line.

I don't know where to look it up, but it seems to me that Kassian did not really have a consistent linemate for any length of time last season, except his doghouse weeks playing with Sestito. It's hard to develop as a player if you are expected to play a different role every night.
