Hey Tuna, Guilliame Brisebois on Team Canada's Training Camp Roster, Juolevi on Team Finlands. We got two more great D Prospects a cometh!!!

Sheldon Keefe - "Dermott and Nielsen are not months away. They are YEARS AWAY!"

The leaves will need YEARS to fix that BLACK HOLE ON DEFENCE. Good Luck with that. Ours is already fixed and ready to go bro. Hey are Babcock is terribly concerned about his back up goalie position. Is he worried that he has no option when Anderson does his classic choke like we saw year after year in Anaheim?

Lamoriello on Kadri:

Kadri) has embraced who he is — he is comfortable in his own skin,” Lamoriello said. “He has taken pride in what he is doing, and he is accountable.

Wonder if he thinks before he speaks?

Boobcock is no fan of Nylander. Says if he wants to play centre he needs to learn how to play defence. LOLOLOLOL

Lots of talk in Toronto "Is Laine better than Matthews"? LOLOLOL

There was a lot of debate not only here but in the hockey world whether Laine or Matthews should go first. Most ceded the point that you build around centres so Matthews should be number one. Honestly don't think either is/was a mistake number one. A team like Toronto, like Vancouver, needs a future number one and Matthews fits that bill. But I'll tell you what, I bet Winnipeg is happy with the outcome.

I think Benning preferred Laine. Something in Matthews game he always hesitated about. But I think he would have been hard pressed to pass on Matthews. And you know what, if we'd picked first Benning would have pissed off 50% of the fan base no matter what he did.

Now I know this thread has turned into bust tuna's balls (do tuna have balls) so I agree, Matthews is a fucking bust!

Let me tell you that debate: it was an orchestrated media story to build up ratings for the draft. Whedn they polled top scouts, 80%+ said Matthews is #1.
The media even tried to say "Some scouts" would take Eichel over Matthews the year prior. It's all horsebleep to keep interest/ratings strong.

Like most of the Leaf coverage.

Peter Holland gets traded for futures, it's a story.
"Sticking with the Shanaplan"
"A look at what's been good, what's been bad, on the leaves defence"

Lots of ink being spilled on a bottom-feeder.

So Matthews was not the consensus #1 overall pick?
Nylander back on Matthews' line and looked great.

Alexandre Daigle was once the consensus #1 overall pick.

(just saying)

Well damn the lines... he's remained on the #1 PP every game, the entire season.

Hmmm only 6 points in his last 17 games though, I blame cumulative concussions...

No actually that was from Gary Lawless, a Winnipeg resident. He wrote an article stating he feels "Laine Will Be Better" without any facts or reasoning behind it. His article has already been destroyed by Mirtle.

And Matthews is 3 points behind Laine with 4 games in hand. And you can bet if Matthews had shot the puck into his own net you would have bumped this thread up and posted about it.

Matthews is on a 40 goal pace with a 12% shooting %. And Laine is apparently in another universe as a goal scorer I keep reading. His 22% shooting % will drop. Matthews is better and will soon pass him in points.

I should not criticize Lawless though. He argues exactly like all of you. Just biased with no facts whatsoever.

Andersen has been one of the best goalies since Nov. 1st. He's now .916 on the season.

Loui Erikkson! Only 5 years left!

"Terrible Goalie" Andersen now .919 on the season. Top 10 amongst goalies with 20+ starts. He's .930 % since nov. 1st. And Anaheim misses him badly.
leaves have a terrible future because they have horrible goalending was the argument, no?
And how has building around a good D corpse done for the Blues? Good luck Canucks.

But you guys have no future. We're on our way up. When is the last time a team had 3 of the top 4 highest scoring rookies?
We're drafting franchise centres. You guys are signing Loui Eriksson.
You gave Loui Eriksson 6 years, 6 million per. The leaves signed Andersen for 5 million, Kadri ( Who shut down Crosby tonight) 4.5 million, and Rielly 5 million all through their prime years.
That shows you the difference right there.
