True.
Hearing TOR and Matthews closing the extension. Will be five years, between $11.5-11.7 AAV
Wow you are amazing, the true Genius.Strangelove wrote: ↑Mon Feb 04, 2019 10:46 am
Strong rumours (from the best in the biz) that Matthews will get ~ $14M/8 yrs, $13M/7 yrs, $12M/6 yrs, or $11M/5 yrs.
I guess Tuna figures they're gonna let Matthews (and Marner) become UFAs in just 5 years!
I totally LOL'ed when I heard the news.Reefer2 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 10:41 amWow you are amazing, the true Genius.Strangelove wrote: ↑Mon Feb 04, 2019 10:46 am

That was Friedman, and now more from today:Maybe Toronto should have snared Matthews before the season at $12 million/year. Matthews was willing to go the maximum term, and the Maple leaves certainly didn’t object, but when he busted out to that huge start, the number got too high — probably close to $14 million. (on an 8 year deal)
Not sure anyone said it was a "guarantee" LOL
That was the problem with the Weber offer sheet - it was such long term that it wound up guaranteeing that Philly would never get him.Strangelove wrote: ↑Tue Feb 05, 2019 4:22 pmNot sure anyone said it was a "guarantee" LOL
Arizona is happier now than ever!
Only have to wait 5 short years and won't have to give up those 4 first rounders...
Yup, Tavares is a leader of men!
Just checked out the internet on this one, people are LOLing at Dumbass.Strangelove wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2017 6:35 pmThese days I honestly cheer for Matthews and Marner to put up huge points.BigTuna wrote:Did you watch "Bust" Mitch Marner? He now has a better PPG than Patrick Laine.
Matthews and Marner are 19. Superstar 1-2 punch for years to come. You guys would flip if you had those 2.
Why?
... mostly because if they keep this pace up they will get $14M each in 2.5 years.(on 8 year contracts of course)
It looks like Marner's negotiations will be Nylander 2.0. They low-balled him once, and already they're trying to low-ball him again. Next Fall will be interesting...
