Kadri is tardy - an adjective describing someone's timing, race describes both the social constructs around human ethnicity and an event in which competitors attempt to do something as quickly as possible.
Kadri is always late so he must not be too concerned about "race."
Get it?

Actually, I think Topper's either losing his edge or dumbing it down for us - I've been getting too many of his comments lately.

But the media had written off PH's "past" comment as nothing more than...Topper wrote:Horachek had stated in his benching announcement that there was history with the bus bomber.Strangelove wrote:Seriously... NO ONE KNEW... Kadri had issues until Shanny went out of his way to announce it.
Once again Strangelove........Interim coach Peter Horachek brought up Kadri’s “past” as something he talked to the 24-year-old centre about when telling him he’d be scratched against the Islanders.
"When Kadri was with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, he was also punished for missing a team meeting."
PH was humming and hawing about benching Kadri for a single game
... finally he did indeed bench Kadri for a single game.
THEN Shanny came out with the "ongoing issues" + "repeat offender" stuff
... and upped the punishment from one game.. to three games (and left the door open for possibly more).
Shanny was the one who put Kadri on display in the fish tank.
AS. I. SAID.
Wait... tuna = fish... tank = losing.... is there yet-another really bad joke in there somewhere??

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
Gotta love BB. He just does not accept any responsibility for the state he leaves a franchise. From the Toronto Star, after the game against the Flames:
Taking in the latest gaffe-filled festival of fun from high in the press box was Flames president of hockey operations Brian Burke, whose fingerprints remain all over this leaves team.
We asked Burke moments before the opening faceoff what he thinks when he sees the leaves now.
“It’s none of my business,” Burke said. “I don’t think (leaves president) Brendan Shanahan needs my advice. I’m a Flame. I don’t work for them anymore.”
But does Burke have any regrets about his moves as leaves general manager?
“I see no reason to comment on anything,” Burke said. “I don’t feel I have to defend anything I did there. I left a playoff team.”
Well, sort of. When Burke was fired in January 2013, the leaves had not made the playoffs since he was hired in November 2008. They did in that spring of ’13, losing in seven games in the first round against the Boston Bruins, but as most living Canadians know, that has been the lone post-season appearance by the club since 2004.
The majority of big pieces Burke acquired when he was running the Toronto show — captain Dion Phaneuf, Phil Kessel, Tyler Bozak, Nazem Kadri, Joffrey Lupul — remain. It’s the same core that has not been able to get to the playoffs since 2013, and it’s the same core the current management group wouldn’t mind dismantling during the coming off-season.
Some foundation for as much was set on trade deadline day last week. You would think that general manager David Nonis, provided he remains in his current job, will circle back to finding ways to deal some of those high-end tickets this summer.
Fact is, Burke should take the blame in this as much as anyone else.

IF Nonis is smart he'll trade all the star players for futures and picks.Hockey Widow wrote:

Wow. 4-0 coilers over the Laughs. I guess I underestimated the Laughs ability to tank.At least they've mastered something this year.
