I would have rather done the Iginla deal than the Miller deal. Having Iginla on the 2nd line would have made it a legit scoring line even with Bonino and Kassian. They need someone to elevate that line.

Glad Iginla signed there for that money. Not like he'll win a Cup with that crew, but oh well. Not sure what is left in terms of 2nd line scoring help, but God knows Benning may be thinking/praying it comes from within.

Yeah, obviously they have a plan in place to bring in a Top 6 forward by way of a trade.

Linden pretty much said as much in an interview the other day.

Glad we didn't take old man Jerome at that cap-hit and term.

Wouldn't have wanted to match what Bolland got either.

Would have loved to get Stastny at 4 x $7m, but can't blame him for choosing St Lou.

But yeah, it's looking like Benning will use the Boston connection to get us that forward.

The more I think about it... the more this looks like a heavy investment in Lack (and Demko by proxy). The west loads up on offense, Vancouver continues to look starved in that department. No significant upgrades anywhere but in goaltending.

Can we start coming up with clever slogans for writing off the season for Connor McDavid? Edmonton got so many easy ones...

Yeah pretty sure McJesus goes to one of Buffalo/Edmonton/Calgary.

And yeah we should probably wait until October before dreaming up any slogans.

Wow start carrying umbrellas and gumboots. What a bunch of whiners! There are bound to be some teams dumping salary and we don't have to pay a 37 year old guy 16 mil over 3 years. Benning has positioned this team so that we have a lot of cap space. I think he did it for a reason. Unless of course Linden hadn't heard of your superior abilities to GM the club. Wait until the season starts..no I'm sorry, cry away, you may as well stay with your strong suit.

C'mon, its not very Vancouver-like to be patient and rational...

Also, are we really that much better *in this conference*, than the Oilers or Calgary? If we split those matchups the point totals might be pretty close.

Listening to Iginla it's obvious he didn't pick Vancouver, as most predicted, because he senses we are a re-build, even though we signed Miller. Actually what he said was it was a tough choice, even Vancouver because they signed Miller and don't seem to be in a re-build like he thought.

AV's offered more term, one year more. Seems in the end it was down to two teams, Tampa and AV's.
