Canucks draft Nikita Tryamkin at #66

Post by Mr.Miyagi »

Not a whole lot out there about this Russian. One thing that stands out right away is his size.

Birthyear: 1994-08-30 Birthplace: Ekaterinburg, RUS
Age: 19 Nation: Russia
Position: D Shoots: L
Height: 201 cm / 6'7" Weight: 104 kg / 229 lbs
Youth Team: Spartakovets Ekaterinburg

At this point in the draft I would say this is a good gamble by the Canucks.
In Okinawa, all Miyagi know two things: hockey and karate.

Charished by Benning?
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Not bad, 38 PIMs in 45 GPs. Benning must be looking for his own potential Big Z. :P

I read on Pass it to Bulis that Tryamkin is actually a pretty good skater for a huge guy.

Fast becoming our top blueline prospect.

Most of our D prospects are middle of the road, this kid has the potential to rise above the pack & be something special.

Hopefully he has a bit of an edge/nastiness to his game, unlike our former gentle giant Marek Malik.

For a guy that big, and one that they are referring to as "awkward", he moves pretty well out there.

I like that he gives the PP nothing in front of his own net, and he moves the puck very well.

The fact that he's also a regular in the KHL already could mean we actually see him sooner rather than later.

Watch the video Todd, would you stand in front of his crease as a teenager?
