Don't blame the Canucks for letting Larionov go.

Igor made the choice, albeit begrudgingly.

Although he never wanted to leave Vancouver, he refused to sign in 1991 because of the Russian interference in negotiations. He wouldn't allow any transfer payments to be sent to the powers-that-be in his old country. He played that year in Switzerland before being acquired by the San Jose Sharks in the 1992 Waiver Draft. With the Sharks the intellectual Larionov was briefly reunited with dazzling Makarov.

They could have protected Igor with the intention of re-signing him later

Like Blob said, the Canucks didn't protect him & they should have. They also should have worked it out w/ Igor to keep him here regardless of any payments that Igor didn't want going there.

Linden was *not* a 3rd/4th line player after we traded him. That's ludicrous. He was a 2nd/3rd line player when we reacquired him. He wasn't on the 4th line until his final season or two when AV came aboard.

That's ludicrous. Gay men are very good at both pitching and catching. You really can't discount a gay man's ability to handle balls.

Ryan Kesler trade talks - All Access

Very interesting, Benning projected Sbisa to be a top-four within a few years.

I find it interesting in that clip that he says our coach likes him, really likes him, and wants him, Bonino .Now if I remember correctly we didn't have a coach at that time did we?

It also is interesting that Crawford wanted that extra pick, 85' so they could go ahead with the Dorset trade. Interesting to see how they had all the pieces laid out, can't pull the trigger on the Garrison deal until they confirm they have the Kesler deal done and a D coming back, so ya, Sbisa was an important piece for Benning.
