Already posted this in Comet Trails - that's a lot of penalty minutes for the NCAA...!

Well duh.. what's not to like ? Costello is exactly the shot in the arm this team needed going forward. He says he expects to play at 225 next season and that he is a natural centre but has played a lot on the wing at Notre Dame. He feels he can adapt to Torts style and is apparently a 2nd cousin of Kevin Bieksa. Not sure why I mixed that in but it was interesting fodder nonetheless.ClamRussel wrote:I like the deal.

I like this trade a lot.
As I am trying very hard to be 'pro Gillis' and see things from his vantage point, this is a deal that does make a lot of sense to me.
My props.

So what's the catch? Perhaps he wasn't going to sign w/ Ottawa.

He has to sign by August 15th...
Re: Jeff Costello to Canucks for Patrick Mullen
Seems to me like an AHL deal.. the Comets selling an every day player to an AHL playoff team for a guy who might play for them next year. I would guess Costello is a long shot to play in the NHl and the Sens aren't exactly hurting for these types of guys anyway.ClamRussel wrote:So what's the catch?
