Loui's first game - when he scored on his own net with the nucks..that was a sign.

Not going to stick up for him, he was vastly overpaid - but was ok as a decent 3rd line checker, too bad he wasn't paid about $1.5m x3 instead 6x6, anyways he's long gone.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

There's the wjc playing right now even. Many teams top prospects and everything yet there is zero talk about that.

Our 1st rounder managed only a single shot in 11+ minutes of their loss to the Yankees.

Jacob Truscott also pumped a single shot on net in his 13 minutes.

No way Garland nets a top 10 pick today.
Are any of the players listed not actually draft picks in that year besides Miller and Garland?

...looks like he skates exceedingly well to me and uses his agility and wheels to great benefit given the opportunity.

He looks solid carrying the puck out of the zone.

He has pretty good size as well.

Still early but not all doom and gloom I wouldn't say.

He's left side in this clip.

Judging from the responses thus far I'd say the consensus is indifferent.

The K doesn't pay much but I guess it's more than Service Station Attendant.

Yeah, my bad.

I should have posted about Benning or Loui Eriksson, Juolevi or our barren farm system.

Or old couches and pizza sauce for that matter.

Next time.

Indeed.

Personally I don't begrudge these guys for squeezing as much dough out of hockey while they still can.

Take Reid Boucher.... please!

Ex-Canuck Boucher's last North American contract was a two-way paying him $450K in the AHL.

Well a KHL team offered him $719K (with potential bonuses of $143K) so he left for Russia in 2020.

Now, I get the Finnish and Latvian teams withdrawing from the K this year in protest of the war.

That right there is a powerful statement!

But to expect these young men to give up million$ for what would amount to a very minor statement

... well that's asking for a lot.

I'm also guessing most of these guys don't know/care much about politics.

So yeah, I'm good with these guys making hay while the sun shines...

...kind of like the people up in arms about LIV golf and the Saudis.

Apparently if you have anything to do with LIV you're cast as a 9-11 attack supporter or had a hand in assassinating Khashoggi.

Well guess what folks, if you've ridden in an Uber....

Guys who play in the K reap what they sow. That economy is going to pop soon, so good luck collecting any of that contractual salary. May as well get paid in Canadian Tire bucks.

Hockey players just want to play and make as much money as possible.

If you are young and don't have kids I can see the lure of playing in Russia and you always think you can handle the weather and cultural issues. Some do and some don't. They also don't want to be dealing with the social aspect of playing in Russia with the current fighting going on but then again many players had contracts signed before the war broke out.

I am not in their shoes so it is easy for me to say "shame" on them for playing there especially knowing Putin loves hockey and it can be seen as supporting his rule.
