I like the hot buffalo and honey bbq sauce for the chicken mcnuggets. Don't wipe on your biking outfit, San Remo Williams.

I guess he can get a couple drums of sauce from somewhere like Little Caesars or Dominoes. I wouldn’t butcher a good pizza with that myself but to each his own. Maybe he drags a lawn couch out from a neighbouring yard and sits down to watch paint dry (Slow Pitch). No man knows for sure, keep us posted Chef.

We'll probably hear something this week with regards to Gaudreau. I was more optimistic before, but I'm not so sure now - especially when you see posts like this

I'm kind of torn on this one. I really hate to lose him, but at the same time, I really hate to overpay him and be stuck with a boat anchor of a contract toward then end of the contract.

A query.

Is a boat anchor of a contract really a boat anchor of a contract if a Cup is won during it's duration?

Do we really give a shit what is going to happen in 5 - 8 years from now?

Who knows what will change with respect to salary cap values and contract structures by then?

Well, it might not be a boat anchor contract, but is a small winger, albeit a very skilled small winger, the player you want to build the team around? Traditionally, it's a big, skilled centre. Anyway, to your point, if they win a cup during his contract, then I wouldn't worry too much about the duration or amount of the contract. And you are correct, who knows what will happen in 5 to 8 years. Hell, I might be pushing up daisies by then (I hope not :look: ) It's not the end of the world if he decides to leave. The Flames will just have to take a different approach than if he decides to stay. They will have a lot of cap space if he decides to leave.

As a boat anchor, Johnny Hokey probably couldn't hold a dinghy in place.

Tough call, BCE. That's a lot of coin and a lot of years for a tiny dancer.

I'm letting the Canucks pay whoever the hell they want whatever the hell they want if they help us finally see the Canucks win a Cup!

If Luo would've helped us win in 2011 no one would care about that damn recapture.

The issue for CGY is it sounds like Johnny Hockey doesn't want to commit and it may be because he doesn't feel the team can compete in the coming years. If that's the case may as well get something for him before he bolts.

I haven't been paying any attention to Calgary.

Looked them over at CapFriendly just now.

They don't seem to have room to sign the little boat anchor.

Expat, have you heard what the plan would be in that regard if they DID re-sign him?

Ship out Monahan perhaps?

Treliving is keeping pretty tight lipped about the whole thing. Everything is speculation at this point. I don't pay that close attention to it, but from what I have heard, they will be able to sign him if he chooses to stay in Calgary. I'm sure they have to make some other moves but there is always a way, I suppose. It's always interesting with Tre when it comes to off season negotiations, trade and signings.

For the record, I hope they give Monahan one more chance. He has been hampered by injuries over the last few seasons, and this year has had some major surgery - hopefully his health issues will be taken care of properly this time, and he is able to get back to some semblance of his former self.

I think the top theory is buying out Monahan, gives them $4m in space this year. Probably cheaper than the cap dump cost.

Isn't Johnny Hockey a year removed from a couple of disappointing (for him) seasons?
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Yah, but those weren’t important. They weren’t contract years. :D
