Just something JB can kick tires on, never know when there will be a boston joe thornton scenario teams wanting cap space, depth yada yada. RFA centers who know how to pass and make plays with the best of em and are relatively youthful.

1) 21yr old Leon Draisaitl ($925K) (it's just facts, but the Oil would be wise to overpay quickly, otherwise he's worthy of the rare offersheet of around $9.1M-$9.3M per.
Where the compensation is two firsts, a second and third-round picks.

2) 24yr old Ryan Johansen ($4M)

3) 22yr old Alex Wennberg is like Henrik the assist machine. ($925K)

4) Markus big bro 25yr old Mikael Granlund (26 goals - 43 assists!) ($3M)

honourable mention Johnson and Spooner, but they can kick rocks.
Johnson will get overpaid but is proven in the playoffs, granted he had some superb wingers there in tampa. Spooner is Wellwood 2.0

Sam Reinhart is a topic of trade discussion, Sabres are stacked top 2 centers in Eichel and ROR, with Johan Larsson as their 3rd C, so Reinhart wasn't used "properly" by Bylsma.

Reinhart is their best trade chip at improving their defense.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Love ya Brother Skyo but not every thread is a trade fantasy thread
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

Thinking 5 steps ahead,

Sedins $14M coming off the books 2018, with Tavares becoming a UFA that summer, know what I'm thinking?

You guessed it, target the team that's trying to acquire his services and take on some of their cap hits, perhaps a young player who needs a new big contract.

With Bishop going to Dallas, they now have to move one of Niemi or Lehtonen. Both have 1 year left on their deals. Perfect situation for the Canucks to forget about Miller if the Stars will give up a decent pick, maybe 2nd round, to take one of these two contracts off their hands so they can sign Bishop. Lehtonen is pricier so maybe he gets the higher pick. It's only one year, Niemi or Lehtonen can pair with Markstrom for the year and Canucks get another draft ticket for the rebuild. Now, this management team seems keen on Miller, but if they we're on top of it (ahem!), there seems to be a chance to swoop in. Stars also looking for D also...hmmm?

Linden is leading this team the way he played - overrated by his lovableness in our community, he's perfect material for a smile and wave politician. When you're a team in our current life cycle you need your leader to be bold and Linden has always played it to safe. I can't stand it when players needs are put ahead of the team, it's always about the health of the organization. I love the Sedins but Linden putting their needs ahead of the team is the catalyst as to where we are now. I would love to see this team unload the Sedins ahead of the next deadline as it would go a long way to helping our future but we have Mr. Safe - Linden in the way of that. The Sedins - are ahead of the organization because of a weak leader who values loyalty to players instead of the organization. Same apllies to Tanev because by the time this team is ready, Tanev will be old, broken and a burden on the cap. I agree with Tiger Williams - Lindens organizational leadership is the problem.

Thanks to Anaheim advancing, Dallas gets their 1st round pick (Eaves).

Tanev and Columbus' 2nd for 3rd Overall and Lehtonen? :D
