The Oilers draft the way the Pens trade and sign FA's.
If you were the GM of the Pittsburgh would you trade Malkin for a set of good players coming back?

Could you get a #1 or #2 Dman and a 4 - 6 forward coming back? Not a Doughty type guy but a top defender?
I'd have traded Crosby two or three years ago and kept Malkin.
You would have kept Mason Raymond too.

They don't even put up similar points, Crosby has 925 points in 696 games, Malkin has 760 points in 644 games. The only player who has not managed to have a career year with Crosby is Phil Kessel. Crosby is also a far more complete player.

Crosby is a great player, maybe top five all time.
The temptation to throw the "C'" on your young franchise player, which they proudly except, is too great.
I can't even imagine the heights Sidney could have reached by now without that damned C.
Has to argue with the refs.
Has to get on team-mate's back sometimes.
Simply has to do too much thinking. (not good), too much load. That has been part of the problem in Pittsburg.
Food for thought if we ever do get an Austin Mathews or along those lines.
Maybe the "C" is an honor but hindering as well...

Drouin won't be dressing vs the Comets, Syracuse has benched him for missing a team meeting.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I wonder if he'd hear the buzzer on the washing machine if his track suit was in it?

He might be making it easier for Stevie to trade him. The high price Stevie wants is going down.

If I'm Benning I wait until I have Stamkos under contract then ask him what he thinks

Jimmy Vessey spurns the Preds and advises them he is testing FA August 15th. Poile very upset as he said the Preds have been told all along Vessey would sign there and the Preds confirmed this prior to TDD. They told him if he was singing they would keep a roster spot in the top six available for him, if not they would make moves at the TDD to try and fill that role. Preds do t know why the change but now rumours of tampering are surfacing.

To that end, Dreger was speaking on the allegations when out of the blue he disclosed his dislike for the Canucks stems from tampering allegations the team made surrounding the twins/Burke/flying to Sweden. Dreger's name was included in the tampering charges to the NHL and he was called by the NHL to discuss.

Claimed he put a stop to the nonsense by threatening to go public and the NHL backed down. Such a self righteous prick.
