Fluky one for Ontario hits a crack in the boards behind the net and pops out the way it came in, fooling Silovs

Awful late pp with Turcotte in the box. Just dreadful.

And we're off to OT. Young Silovs has been very sharp in goal tonight.

Hard to believe the Kings looked at Zegras and Turcotte on the USNTDP and decide 'yeah, we'll take Turcotte.'

Phil Di Giuseppe wins it in the shootout going high stick side where dad keeps the Playboys.

20 year old goalie Arturs Silovs was outstanding in the Abby crease tonight.

Final score 3-2 (so) Abbotsford Canucks.

Was really impressed with Silovs tonight. He's big , quick, covers a lot of net and seems pretty technically proficient for such a young guy. Quick glove, good lateral movement. Was very poised in the shootout poke checking the first two shooters and not allowing a goal. Maybe it's Silovs who turns out to be the better goalie prospect down there?

Another goal from Klimovich tonight, quite a release on that shot. He has a lot to learn all around but you can't deny the offensive talent.

I liked what little I saw of him (Silovs) in pre-season.

I'm reluctantly skeptical about a 6' goalie (MD) developing into an NHL starter so I can definitely see this

Tonight's performance was a real eye opener for me. Unlike Cornuck I never really took notice of him before and suddenly it's like I'm looking a Latvian Demko or something. It was really encouraging stuff.

This is good news for canuckland. We've become something of a goaltender development destination and this is fantastic to see as a fan after all those years of Cloutiers and Luongos
