I think he is a converted forward, and it does look like it by his style of play.

Certainly looks that way on the pp. Might account for his numbers a bit.

His defensive acumen may need some honing on the farm, but he could prove quite useful as a rover on the PP. Just don't let him anywhere near Sully and that abortion of a PP!

Thu April 10

AHL

Utica 3 Lake Erie 2 (OT)
Eriksson 19 saves on 21 shots

DeFazio, (17) (O'Reilly, Kennedy)
Welsh, (6) (Lain, Friesen)
OT Pelletier, (19) (Tommernes, O'Reilly) (PP)

Utica still with a small chance of making the playoffs!

OHL Playoffs

Guelph 6 London 3
Horvat 0 points, -2

London trails series 1-3

Well with several defencemen hurt, Horvat reportedly played part of the game on defence... and with #1 goalie suspended they are in tough. At least they are hosting the Memorial Cup with an automatic berth!

Oshawa 5 Peterborough 2
Cassels 1 goal (6th), +1

Oshawa wins series 4-0

North Bay 4 Barrie 7
Liberati 0 points, even

Series tied 2-2

WHL Playoffs

Victoria 1 Portland 5
Cederholm 1 assist, +1

Portland wins series 4-1

As a citizen of Vancouver Island and SW BC in general, I officially give Portland the finger for taking out the Royals and the Giants in a total of 9 games. :scowl:

Alex Friesen has really elevated his game over the past month, playing for the most part with Lain and Welsh.

Nice to see Cannata come up with a big game as well.

Would Horvat be eligible for a cup of coffee with the Comets before season's end or not?

Don't think so as his season won't end until London is out of the Memorial Cup and I'd guess Utica is done by then..

Sun April 13

AHL

Utica 1 Adirondack 2
Eriksson 31 saves on 33 shots

Pelletier, (20) (DeFazio, O'Reilly) (PP)

Wow - what a disappointing result. Can't even beat one of the worst teams in the league with a (albeit small) chance of making the playoffs. Blecchh.

OHL Playoffs
