Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
How many posts have you guys spent bickering over whether Blob did or did not insinuate Forsling was some semblance of great? My guess is it's 2-3 times more than the various links and images posted by Mick.

Re: 2010 Canucks vs 2019 Canucks
I look forward to the return of Roussel. The bottom-6 looks quite a bit better with him in it, and he provides some of that Kesler a-hole factor.

Re: Canucks Pre Season; 2019/2020; Shake It Out.
Taking a step back for some perspective, the Baertschi waive is looking a lot more reasonable. Yes, he had decent points in preseason, and he showed chemistry with Gaudette, but management claims they saw hesitation and having chemistry with a guy that for the moment appears to be the 13th forward i...

I don't love the message it sends to the players: "if you appear to be on the way down or out due to injuries sustained while playing for us, we will dump you".

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Not that it particularly contradicts Blob's comment, but the Bruins did miss the playoffs seven times and had several early playoff exits in the last 25 years. Which team hasn't done that in a 25 year period? Yeah, that's what I was beginning to wonder. As Blob said, clearly two finals and a Cup ar...

That's a fantastic list of countries and adventures, HW. Maybe we need a separate thread entitled "Hockey Widow's Around the World in 180 days".

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020
One-hit to retirement notwithstanding...
Baertschi looked good with Gaudette and would probably do well on the 3rd line. I assume he's being waived because he frees up more cap than Schaller.
It sucks to be waiving middle-tier talent. Or am I just seeing this through Canuck-coloured glasses?

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"
Dhaliwal is OK in limited doses, but the bitchy-banter thing that show does is awful which makes Halford/Brough the alternative in that slot. They're fine. The mid-day stuff is pretty grim. Moj is very good talking football, but pretty meh otherwise and Don is past his expiration date - but, the 650...

It surprises me that they have them paired together. Doesn’t make it easy on them. What does it show the coaches?

I think it was Barrie is better than Peterborough.
But it took several pages across two threads to establish that point. There were also tapas plates of red herring, and 18-yr old scotch.

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020
These hits are garbage. It's becoming ridiculous. Players enter the league and hope for the best, but many end up with shortened careers and/or shortened lives. Too many players getting hit in defenseless positions. The deterrent system isn't working.

Re: Canucks Pre Season; 2019/2020; Shake It Out.
I thought Lind looked decent. He was noticeable on Sunday, too. I stopped in for the scrimmage and the practice session that followed. Sautner, Lind and Perron were the bright spots for the young guys. At $5/person, we got a steal of a deal. Probably better value than the exhibition game and likely...
