Re: Makes Ya Wanna Puke

I don't expect much support on this from all the proHST Liberal/Campbell fanboys on this site but seriously....if you at all believe in integrity this has got to make your stomach turn a bit. First of all Gordo wasn't even eligible for a nomination (according to their own rules) because at the dead...

Re: Winnipeg Reveals its True Colours

By the way, Tom Benjamin's blog on this subject is pretty good: Am I the only one who feels a little uncomfortable with the new logo of the Winnipeg Jets? I can understand why the Canadian military wants to partner with the NHL – it gets the same benefits of any corporate sponsor and the television...

Re: Ahh Summer Nights

I'm a big believer in keeping refreshed when driving so I always find places to stop and swim. When I head out to or home from a job it is routinely a 8-10 hour drive. I get into a zone and go. Gas stops are an annoying inconvenience. I use the gps as a trip computer and try to bump my average spee...

Re: Ahh Summer Nights

Will be road-tripping with my friend across the country. Unfortunately she didn't get her passport and can't cut through the US as we first planned. We'll end up in Hamilton where she's moving to, but will be starting off here in Vancouver. It's been 15 years since I did the Great Canadian Road Tri...

Langkow to Phoenix for Stempniak possibly

The Flames have traded Langkow for Lee Stempniak pending a physical for Langkow.

Down does another centre from the Calgary roster. How many on Calpuke wished it were Stajan?

Re: Muzac For Munsters

Neko's got a killer voice, but I still think alt country is where old rockers go to get lame. John Doe, Dave Alvin, Mojo Nixon, Alejandro Escavedo, HankIII Escovedo is underrated by a landslide- that guys has some serious talent. I saw KD Lang of all people recently and was pretty impressed. Really...

Re: HST

It's such a non-issue. The fear mongering started with 'new homes' and continued through. Seeing as so many people buy new homes in the lower mainland it got legs. I have yet to figure out how it would save my businesses money to harmonize both taxes, it's never been explained to me in a way where I...

Re: Young children and skating/hockey

Nothing says "I'm tough" when you are a fully grown man bellowing at a 15 year old ref for an 11 year old's hockey game!

Re: Young children and skating/hockey

I fear one aspect of hockey... other parents! My wife works with a lady whose son plays and is 10. She warned us it can get nutty! A kid that played on her kid’s team last year spent the summer in Europe at some hockey school. His parents packed up and took him to train for the summer. He’s 10 year...

Re: The Strange Case of Keith Ballard

SC's points are totally valid but as fans we have to look at reality. The short term best case prospectus for Ballard is he comes to camp fit and followed the off season regime. If so he can have a far better shot at being the player most hope or think he can be. Anything more is complicating the fa...

Re: Young children and skating/hockey

I get more excited about hockey season for my kids sometimes than the NHL- just fun being involved. I know what you mean. You’d have to see my kid... he's only 3 and a half. We go and get his equipment and the guy at the store is really helpful. I haven’t played hockey in 25 years. I don't know how...

Re: Young children and skating/hockey

My oldest son tried lacrosse this spring and loved it!! Seriously violent sport with so much freaking running and cardio I have never seen so much sweat on young boys! (yeah I meant it to sound that way). My little guy wants to do it this year too so I bought him a lacrosse stick and he now whips th...

Re: The Strange Case of Keith Ballard

Ballard needs to be fit. He was never fit last year. Fitness makes so much of a difference in decision making and playmaking. If Ballard can come to camp in shape, fit and injury free there is no reason why he cannot be a serviceable player and get some top 4 minutes. But it's up to him. Look at the...
