Re: Edmonton wins the lottery.
I wonder if Tyler Seguin is saying, "Phew! Who says second place is first loser?" Watch the Oilers draft Seguin. lol And they should. I wasn't impressed with Hall at the World Juniors and in the long-run I think Seguin will be the better player. What better way to re-build than draft a new number o...

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions Thread Round 1
Washington - as if the Habs really have a chance... C'mon, even with Halak's save percentage the Caps will find a way to light the lamp. New Jersey - if there was an upset, it'd be this one. The Devils have been ousted two straight years from the quarters and the Flyers are a talented team. But gett...

Re: Could an all CANADIAN division ever work in the NHL?
All Canadian teams are already in the same division. The only change that I think should be made is putting a Canadian team in each division, that way they wont' eliminate each other in the first round of the playoffs.
Won't ever happen though.

Kyle Wellwood article
Surfing the web, ignoring the textbooks during exam season.
And I dug up this little gem on Wellwood, whose dad suffered from bipolar disorder. For Kyle, hockey was an escape. Interesting read - check it out:

Re: Goaltending Controversy?!
Luongo all the way, no question, end of story. For me, anyway.
But let's add some fuel to the fire - in a recent anonymous poll done by players for ESPN, Roberto Luongo was voted the most overrated player in the league.

Re: I'm calling it - Burrows and Kesler will lead this team
Assuming a 100% healthy line-up, I wonder if we'll see the following at some point: Sedin-Sedin-Burrows Raymond-Kesler-Grabner Demitra-Wellwood-Samuelson Hansen-Johnson-Rypien (or Hordi or Bernier in there somewhere). From what I hear, Team 1040 was talking about these line combos as well. Grabner ...

Re: Do the Canucks have a bad ATTITUDE?
The Canucks played about 25 minutes of good hockey. That defense was atrocious - too many damn turnovers. Sloppy game by both teams, 10 giveaways by the Canucks and 17 by the Sharks. Edler and Bieksa's heads clearly weren't in the game because at least twice each they were caught flatfooted or unawa...

After watching that effort against San Jose we're not gonna make it past the second round.

Re: Do the Canucks have a bad ATTITUDE?
There's a difference between losing one game here and there, and losing CONSISTENTLY and/or playing poorly against the crappy teams....while CONSISTENTLY playing well and/or winning against the stronger teams. I don't know what San Jose and Chicago's situations have been over the past year, but my ...

Re: Is there anything better?!?
Second, I know alot of people just shrugged it off, but I thought Sutter's inability to manage the cap last year and not even being able to ice a full lineup for the final few games of last season demonstrated his incompetence. With that being said, I demand he be given a 10 year contract extension...

Re: Do the Canucks have a bad ATTITUDE?
I don't think it's that badass attitude, but more of a swagger. Kesler and Burrows have really brought a personality to this team and it seems as though the Sedins have finally realized how good they are. The swagger's there - let's just hope they don't self-destruct. 1. As good as Raycroft has been...

Re: Is there anything better?!?
As much as I respect Iggy he's no longer the player he once was. The team needs a group of young talent to emerge but it doesn't help when you deal away Phaneuf, picks, and Keith Aulie. They've got a whole mish-mash of secondary players but no superstar.
The Flames are on a downswing.
I like it.

Bernier is not a slug.the toucan kid wrote:A lot of teams have third lines made up of spare parts. I love Rypien though, so don't anyone go grouping him in with the rest of the slugs. Those 'spare parts' could be 3rd liners on a lot of teams.
