Re: Keith Ballard for Our First

Done deal. I suspect Tinordi was the guy Gillis was holding out for.

Re: Keith Ballard for Our First (?)

Am I the only not sold on Grabner? Yes, he's fast - but I haven't seen him do much against NHL goalies. Sure, he had his hattrick, but only 2 goals in the other 19 games. I'm so-so on Grabner. He's a project player and I don't know how he'll settle in as an NHLer. I think MG may have given up a bit...

Re: BYFUGLIEN TO THRASHERS

A cold hard slap of reality for the Hawks. They won the Cup, so you can't knock them much. But how can you let things go so far awry financially? This in addition to the fact they're going to have to hide Huet and his contract in the minors next season.

Re: The final insult in this saga

Point being boys, I was probably about 11 years old at the time when it all was said and done. But that's the point...you can hate it all you want. You all can say "what if" but the point is... it happened and much to the chagrin of many here in Canuckland... it's ancient history. Cam Neely was des...

Re: The final insult in this saga

I think it's just time to let the Neely saga go. He didn't work out here LB, he was never given a chance to work out here. I was 16 years old at the time he was dealt and I hated that deal when it happened. Fat Quinn who came one year too late would NOT have made that trade. As Clam says he was use...

If someone is suggesting Buffy is 247, I'm not buying it. Add 25 lbs to that figure.

Re: Curt Fraser

I agree about Fraz, but taking a swipe at Tanti isn't right. TT scored a lot of goals on some poor teams. He held up his end of the bargain. At times, he was the only guy who could put the puck in the net at all.

Re: WHERE do the Canucks go from here? List your strategies

I'm wondering if Martin St. Louis would be a nice addition to the Canucks team... Yes, and so could a 1972 era Bobby Orr and a 1982 era Denis Potvin. 1972 Orr - Edler 1982 Potvin - Ehrhoff Salo - SOB Valet: Rome Edler would be free to stand around mouth agape at having the incredible fortune to be ...

What a terrific player. First time I saw him was in that 8-game junior series vs the Russian juniors thing in 2007. I could see right away that kid was special and would be a great two-way player. Didn't think it would happen this fast, though.

I agree. And Pronger and the second-string, no-name goalie he plays in front of are two wins away from a Stanley Cup.

No. The Canucks' shortcomings are still the Canucks' shortcomings. Now Sid, are you saying this as a fan :P Yeah, agreed, the Canucks' shortcomings are their own and no one else's. All the things that needed to be addressed prior to the trade deadline didn't happen, and in hindsight, they really sh...
