Re: MacKenzie: Corey Schneider to NJ for 9th overall pick

The Horvat trade will go down as one of the best trades in Canucks' history. By far the best trade Gillis ever made.

Re: 2017/18 Pacific Division

Edmonton Calgary Anaheim L.A. San Jose Phoenix Vancouver Vegas Not sure if one or no wild cards come out of this division.... San Jose and LA should be a good battle for 7/8 in the conference. If every thing breaks wrong for the Canucks and Green gets them buying in they could vault Phoenix. I'd per...

Re: It's getting warm

Corn, that is the laughable part of the climate charge alarmists. They keep saying they are trying to save the planet. The planet will carry on very well thank you and so will life on Earth. Species die off. When I lived in Vancouver I used to tell people that I'm not going to Disneyland, I'm waiti...

Re: It's getting warm

Being skeptical with the notion that humans are causing disastrous levels of “global warming” or “climate change” is like disagreeing with abortion. Society doesn’t like dissension. Follow the herd or be ostracized.

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2016/17

Basically the opinion of the signings is they are fair signings for decent players at a decent term, and would be good deals for anyone outside of Vancouver; but, Vancouver should be trying to purposefully lose like Toronto did to get Matthews. Of course there is no recognition that no matter how p...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2016/17

Basically Benning is trying to have a NHL team instead of an AHL team. Young players can make the team, but they won't be forced into roles they can't handle. Hard to argue with that approach.

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2016/17

Said it before but I'll say it again; Juolevi is going to come to camp and make it damned difficult. He'll be busting his ass to make it. Will be harder then people may think to predetermine his fate... I agree, just no spot for him now. He's a left side guy and there are already 3 left side guys i...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Gagner, Del Zotto and Nilsson would all be reasonable signings given the team's needs, assuming contract terms aren't out of hand. 2-3 year deals would be great.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Anybody else think it's awful nice of McDavid not do demand the cap max salary ($15M per year)?

Over the course of that contract, a $13.25M cap hit is going to look like a damn steal for Edmonton.

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2016/17

GMJB is so old school there is absolutely no chance he offer sheets Draisatl. Beyond that, he's not worth the $8-9 million you'd need to offer to really fuck with the Oilers, when you consider the payment required. Think of this way, if you were Van, would you trade 4 first round picks for LD? Nope...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

In fairness to Elliott, the Flames folded like a cheap tent in the 3rd and OT and were getting abused like a rental car by guys like old man Bieksa.

Re: Playoff OOTS

We probably wouldn't be a contender, but that's nearly half of a very good forward lineup that we have traded away for not very much in return. Obviously, we don't know how good Dahlen and Goldobin will or won't be, but something that has struck me in these playoffs is how good some of the players w...

Re: Playoff OOTS

So, if we still had Grabner, Burrows, Kassian, Hansen, Bieksa and Kesler (who have all looked pretty damn good to great in the playoffs), how good of a team would we have?
