Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

:P It is in fact stated truth that only the coil rate lower than us.... Yeah, but the posters here are great. :) That said i am very glad BC Expat has come over here as he is a quality poster regardless of the fact he cheers for the Flames. And the self loathing, fear of success behaviour doesn't st...

Re: GDT(s) Canucks at Calgary and Calgary at Canucks Sept 20

Hmmmm Saddledome Calgary 9 powerplays Vancouver 2 powerplays Rogers Calgary 5 powerplays Vancouver 0 powerplays S_C I'm not sure about the game in Vancouver, because I'm only getting the game in Calgary, but it sound's like a lot of the penalties the Canucks are getting, are a result of not skating...

Re: GDT(s) Canucks at Calgary and Calgary at Canucks Sept 20

From the Flames side, Sven Baertschi looks like he's a pretty good draft pick by the Flames. I wouldn't doubt that he may see a few regular season games before being sent down.

Re: Comics Anyone?

I've got a shit load of comic books I bought when I was a kid (Remeber i'm 58 years old as of Sept 15). Some of them date back to the '50s. Someday, I'll have them appraised. I'm sure I have some that are worth a few bucks - but, who cares. I'll still keep them. Maybe my kids will cash in on them.

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I have met some really good Flames fans in recent years, and just like Vancouver, we have our share of idiots. Just comes with the territory of being hockey obsessed cities. :) Too many people forget that it is only a game. I also think it has a lot to do with the animity of the internet - people p...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

It's pretty slow these days regarding hockey in Calgary, so they have to discuss something  As one poster on CP put it - nothing like pre-season for all the Flames fans to try on their rose coloured glass. Mine fit just fine  :drink: I'm sure they will be broken by the end of October.

Re: Ahh Summer Nights

Down in Arizona, our subdivision is surrounded by cotton fields. The soil around there looks reddish in colour, but it seems to grow lots of cotton.

Rats - where do you get your hay when you're down south? I'll bet it's expensive in Arizona.

Re: Wade Belak found dead in his condo

This is extremely sad, and very weird - three tough guys in a row. I didn't realize there were so many depressed NHL enforcers.

Re: Langkow to Phoenix for Stempniak possibly

I suppose one could look at this as getting rid of a bad contract but to me that's only really the case if you think the Flames have a good shot at doing something this year. I'm not one of those people. As such, the Langkow contract wasn't an issue as it expires at the end of the year. Stempniak i...

Re: Langkow to Phoenix for Stempniak possibly

This is a great cap move for Calgary. If a player or players become available at or after training camp they are in a position to make a move. They are not going to be a contender this season (yes I know if they make the playoffs anything can happen) but realistically they are not a favourite so th...

Re: Langkow to Phoenix for Stempniak possibly

Langkow goes from my favorite team to my second favorite team. Slowly but surely, Feaster is getting rid of all the bad contracts. I liked Langkow, but not for $4.5 million per season. Anyway, best of luck to him in Phoenix.

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka
As a Flames fan, BCExpat, what did you think of the Phaneuf trade? What that good for the Flames?
I don't mind that they traded Phaneuf. He didn't really progress much in his last couple years with the Flames. He seemed to be out of position a lot, and his defensive game took a step...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

........The point is, of all the possible sleepers, it was a Flames prospect that was mentioned.......... True fans make the best of it. You're right, but being a Flames fan, there isn't much to get excited about these days, so any little string of hope is grasped with both hands :look:
