Speaking of the Sedins, they just set up Pyatt with an absolute beaut to make it 4-0! Edmonton is starting to show its frustration now - I hope it doesn't get too dirty.

Wow, that's the most intense pressure I've seen the Canucks put on all season! Only fitting that it should culminate in a beautiful goal by Daniel.

And moments later, another goal by Daniel! Woohoo! 2/3 of the way to the hattrick! Love it!

Good to see Cowan get off to a spirited start.

EDIT: I hope he's okay after going to the dressing room.

Edmonton fans are smarting with their loss yesterday and their loss today in CFL action to the BC Lions. Let's complete the hat-trick tonight.

I'd be surprised if we don't start Luongo in this important divisional game. I say 3-1 Canucks, with goals from Henrik, Daniel, and Morrison.

A good win by the Canucks. Here's the things that stood out to me since I started watching middle of the 2nd period. Weaver looked dreadful. Nearly every time I noticed him he was getting beaten or giving up the puck. Offsetting Weaver's gaffs was Luongo, who made some key saves. His rebound control...

There is usually a single thread per game: "GDT" stands for game-day-thread. The one for today's Oilers game is here:

I could only startd watching halfway through the second period, but here's my thoughts on the goals I saw: Weaver looked lost on that penalty kill, leading to Torres' goal. I'm not impressed with Weaver yet. Beautiful goal by Morrison to take the wind back out of Edmonton's sails. His skating throug...

I agree with showtyme too - it makes it easier to follow the game timeline if all game-related posts are in a single thread. (Polls of course can remain in their own threads).

I've enjoyed reading all the speculation about the new jerseys, but was purposely withholding all my comments until the official unveiling. Here are my thoughts. What I like about the new sweaters: * The overall simplicity and vintage feel. Specifically, I applaud the use of simple colors and the da...

That hilarious everything-under-the-sun logo is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Thanks Linden! You mind if I make it my avatar?

I'm glad Linden's getting more than the league minimum. The league minimum would have been a slap in his face and a slap in the face of all his fans. I hope he wins the cup---goodness knows he deserves it, and we've all been waiting far too long!

what about the Potvin/Essensa/Hirsch/Hedburg/Irbe/Snow/ etc. era? Admittedly, there are more goalies than I listed. However, for me, these other goalies aren't as era-defining as Brodeur, McLean, and Cloutier and Luongo. The other goalies you listed are all secondary as far as I'm concerned (did an...

I guess I've always considered Canucks "eras" being defined by their go-to goalie.

pre-80's : Too far back for me
early 80's: Richard Brodeur
late 80's and 90's: Kirk Maclean
early 00's: Dan Cloutier
Present: Roberto Luongo
