Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Agree HW. With the Seattle expansion looming, I had hope that this was the plan all along. No doubt Marky contributed hugely to this organization, especially in the last few years, but when (if ever) did we have a young core like this? All drafted and developed by the Canucks. Dump a few more of th...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Marky played himself into his final payday contract. He deserves it and I wish him well, just not too well. No way Benning could have, or should have, offered 6x6, or 7, with a full NMC. The team has groomed Demko for this moment. I'm ok with Holtby as the mentor/backup for next year and probably th...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

Jimmy (like most GM’s of competitive teams this year) is in a tough catch 22 position this year. We want to improve the team and ship out salary in a flat cap, gate driven, pandemic season. We have contracts bottom teams want (Erickson gets team to the cap floor with coating real money) and we have...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

Just posted by Taj Drance & Dhaliwal: It’s believed that the basic parameters of a possible deal are essentially set. It will include a draft pick of some magnitude, an inefficient contract from Vancouver’s bottom 6 and a prospect. It's identity of the prospect that remains a point of contention. S...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

Iain McIntyre just filed his Sportsnet article a few minutes ago and he seems to think the Canucks offered Markstrom more than Lehner signed for. I wonder what Marky is looking for dollar wise? I've been in the let him walk camp all along, even more so now I think. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/arti...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

Benning got crucified last year for not sticking it to Tampa in their cap dump of Miller. So we know he is fair but this is a time to do a reverse Kesler.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

Latest, Taj reported this: Irf: It's clear Coyotes want one of Demko, Hoglander or Podkolzin. Give them Demko, Juolevi, Virtanen and they take Louie, Sutter and retain 2 million on OEL. Done and done. Re-sign Markstrom 6x6 and give him his trade protection. Re-sign Tofolli. Your friend finally got ...

Re: 2020 NHL Draft

Micky, The NMC follows the player undertake new CBA. Previously once a player waived it the acquiring team had to agree to pick it up or it was gone forever, not anymore, it automatically follows. What Doc is say...... Is why fret over full NMC when we see guys all the time willing to waive them, al...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

What's going on with OEL? Haven't read/ heard anything since the morning. And HW is staying mum on it. Either she doesn’t know or she knows to stay quiet about details until after the fact.....in which case it’s very very close. My source isn't responding to my texts so I know nothing. He goes dark...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

I love what Markstrom has brought to this team but Benning needs t decide who his goals of the future is. And if he has. I think he has, then he needs to let Markstrom walk. I am told the biggest holdup is trade protection.

Re: Canucks 2020 Draft Summary

Kunz are the new Coxe Imagine those two together on the same line banging away all the walls. The Coxe and Kunz reign of terror would have lived in infamy. My mind shudders to ask, but like a good train wreck, you follow through: Who is the center if those are the wings? Ya, it can't be Rathbone.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

Don’t think it is Eriksson. The yotes will only do 1 years like Sutters last year, if they retain $1.25 million, we in the hook for 7. We lose a left side D prospect in the trade like Juolevi or Rathbone and a forward prospect not named Hoglander or Podkolzin like Kole Lind I would guess its Erikss...

Re: Pre-draft & pre-free-agent day speculation

Ya if that is anywhere near what the Coyotes are demanding I am hoping Benning says no. For that price, from a guy who holds the cards as to where he will go, as we saw with Kesler, don't be paying that Jimbo. Not unless we can dump a shitload of contract.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

Well as usual, I got that one wrong:

NHL CBA Player Movement Changes

No movement clauses or no-trade clauses will now travel with players, even if they agree to lift it once. The acquiring team was previously required to agree to keep the NMC or NTC, but now it’s automatic.
