Anyone else watching any of the games in the other series?
The refereeing is really no different this year than last, and it is unbelievable the stuff they let go and the variability in the calls from team to team.
Welcome to the swamp....errrrr NHL playoffs.

Re: The Ole Canuck comeback
There is a definite difference between hoping and thinking, and what the Canucks can do versus what they might do based on career averages versus their recent play sample. I still hope that they can win this series, and still think that they can win this series. I am basing this on career averages, ...

Re: Farhan's $0.02 - Has Mike Gillis misdiagnosed the Canuck
Which one of these forwards are you thinking of Farhan? I only see four 40 goal scorers in the whole league this past year. Forwards Stamkos....60 Malkin....50 Gaborik....41 Neal....40 Ovechkin...38 Kovalchuk...37 Kessel...37 Hartnell....37 Perry....37 Moulson....36 Vrbata...35 Ryder....35 Cole....3...

Re: GDT - R1G2 - Canucks vs Kings 7PM PST CBC
We saw the movie The Three Stooges this afternoon. While watching the Vancouver defence at times tonight I thought I was back at the movie. The Canucks need Edler to play better, and it is hard not to wonder if it is possible considering his year. But we live in hope. It won't matter who plays goal ...

Re: GDT: R1G1 - Canucks host Kings - 7:30
For all the unfocused unmotivated absence of discipline type play tonight by several (but not all) of the Canucks, the game still basically boiled down to giving up a 5 on 3 goal and a goal at the end of a 5 min power play. It is understandable that people will want to vent their frustration with th...

Re: First round playoff match up - LA Kings
CBC has Ottawa on Saturday at 7 PM eastern though the game is in New York.
Vancouver is supposed to be one of the better conditioned clubs, so do extra days off benefit them as much as or more than LA (other than Salo maybe)?

Re: First round playoff match up - LA Kings
We need to not only have the goalies tracking the puck well, but the rest of the team needs to be focused on the puck.
Focus, Focus, Focus.
Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work at hand. The sun's rays do not burn until brought to a focus.

Re: President's Trophy!!
You know that there is a Canuck fan somewhere thinking it. No team has ever won the President's Trophy three years in a row, so next year expect to hear a lot of "Vancouver sucks" type remarks...of course that won't be much different than any other year. Out of 25 Trophies, only twice has a team tha...

Did you see the following post Farhan? It would seem on the surface to support the premise that offence is more important than defence.

Stirling is about 100 miles east of Toronto. I grew up in a small town just a few miles on the Toronto side of Stirling (which is the biggest town in Rowden township, population of the town is just over 2000 people). We had a good rivalry with them in sports, and I can't ever remember loosing to the...

Farhan, I was considering your consideration that Henrik Sedin is going to be a very good second line player when I was thinking about elite status. I think Henrik has been an elite center, and I hope he can continue that way for at least a couple of more years, but your position is based on him dec...

Re: Farhan's $0.02: Can Ryan Kesler ever be an elite #1 cen
Interesting thoughts Farhan. Since there are so many variables that go into winning a Stanley Cup, I would think that the question is how could Vancouver ensure that they are a legitimate contender for the Cup, which to me means getting to the Stanley Cup finals repeatedly. So, does Vancouver need a...

"I've only been able to find scoring chance info from game 1 of the final. But the Sedins even strength scoring chance differential in that 1-0 game was 7-1. But all average/below average fan takes from that game is "the Sedins got shut down in the playoffs/important game". http://www.coppernblue.co...

Re: OK, So What I have been told
No, not Ralphie. No B B gun, and no rabbit suit. I think they kind of balance each other out though. Its funny when you think about watching the great hockey players over the years, how many of the less than generational talents did not get the credit they deserved when they were playing. I suspect ...
