Re: NHL business
It's funny how in the old days, clean, even clean hard hits, would rarely bring a retaliatory response. It would be more a matter of the guy who got hit, got back to the bench, and his team mates would say; Shit, man, he really got ya that time, better keep your head up. Now even one clean hockey h...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Did those same GMs understand that? Did they have that to give? I think any GM who claims he wasn't aware Hall was available is practising CYA big time... If I was an owner I'd be all over my GM after seeing what a Team Canada winger on a cap friendly contract was dealt for... It's maybe the worst ...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!
Should sit a guy like Sbisa for not trying and not punish young guys for making a bad pass or missing an assignment with taking away their ice time. That's Midget league tactics. The team has so many more issues to deal with before they get around to talking about their 4/5 d man... Very odd commen...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!
Edler and Tanev play on the same pairing against other teams top lines. Edlers play two years ago was garbage on the second pairing . Once he was teamed up with Tanev his play improved tremendously. Tanev is the anchor. Stick to ball hockey because the NHL clearly isn't your thing. It's getting old...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka
All we need now is for Carolina to pick him up and put Lack on waivers....Now Hiller is back so they waive young Ortio.
Take care...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"
However, the BRO has a pretty good book of business that follows him wherever he goes. His advertising contacts will keep him on the air for a while yet. Despite the fact that he knows nothing about sports, and is basically an excitable fan of the home team. I've long thought that the sports media ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
The rest range from underwhelming to dumpster fire . The level of whining going on over Sbisa's contract for some reason reminds me of the level of whining going on in our political system... While the Americans have their scandals known as Benghazi and IRS and Emails to name a few, we Canadians, n...

Yes called out indeed This might make it easier for you Blob... http://www.spotrac.com/nhl/rankings/cap-hit/defenseman/ I'm with the minority who couldn't understand the angst towards his play, not sure if that was because I was more disappointed with the play of the top 4, especially in the playof...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"
I have sympathy for the sports writers… First off, there are too many of them and they all have to write about the same team on a daily basis … And most of them have been doing it in the same market for many years, so its normal for biasis and out right dislike to creep into their writing from time ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Supply and demand, Canucks couldn't charge as much as they wanted for playoff tickets, players salary doesn't affect ticket prices. Makes sense to me, and the reason why so many NHL teams struggle to break even and why at least a third of them lose money ... Mind you to be fair, players aren't paid...

Re: Welcome to the Dark Side Minions: The Top Draft Prospect
Ehlers is small. The Canucks don't need another lightweight, Shinkaruk will do nicely Watching the World Juniors this past December, what I thought the Canadian team really missed was a player like Shinkaruk ... Against the more talented opposition they looked slow and didn't have the speed to back...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka
this place would be a gold mine if gold was sh*t Back in the day when there was some maturity on that board, and because a friends son played for the Flames, I enjoyed posting there from time to time... Mind you they were always a pretty unruly bunch even back then, much like many who are posting o...
