Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Arizona picks up Grossman and Pronger () for Gagner and a pick. Gotta reach the floor somehow! Trading around the contract for someone who's "retired" and is working at NHL head office has got to raise some eyebrows. Although I'm not surprised, and I don't begrudge the deal, it works for the ...

I'd like to hear his in depth reasoning for that statement, and why Canada's team wouldn't be Montreal.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

I'd LOVE to see the fireworks... but no doubt Shanny assured him the Salutegaters will be gone. Given the contracts and everything, I'd be surprised if they're both gone by the beginning of the season. I have no doubt that the leaves be looking to deal, but that's a lot of coin to move around, and ...

Assuming they're still on the team, it'll be interesting to see the "dynamic" between Babcock, Diane, and Phillis.

Yeah, coming from Detroit I'm sure Babcock was jumping to make that a part of his legacy. At least Toronto tries.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

The big problem is the leaves have no GM. A new guy is going to be second fiddle to Babcock. It will be a strange relationship for a new GM to come with a golden boy coach, with a major say in player personnel and player moves, on a contract that lasts for eight years. I'm not sure I understand the...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

I still say it's too dangerous to trade Lack banking on Markstrom playing well in the NHL and old man Miller staying healthy and good Unless the offer knocks Benning's socks off, I see no reason why they'd trade Lack. The market isn't good enough to produce worthwhile offers, IMO. When Miller is ob...
