Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Is Lebanc's contract full of bonuses? No, bonuses are only allowed on ELCs and 35+ contracts now. Other than signing, reporting and roster bonuses and in certain conditions where a player has played over 400 games, has been on LTIR 100 or more days in the most recent season and signs a one-year SPC.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

I want a peek into that alternate reality where they win that game 7 and actually beat boston in 2011. Does the dude still troll there or does that one extra win silence all the noise? I'm gonna rip a fattie and see if i can answer that question Answer: We're all still drunk and happy. Blob and the...

So based on your above statement, Ericksson was overpaid when he initially signed in Vancouver. Glad you finally admit that.

Re: Canucks Contracts

Canucks could have traded for Luongo avoiding his retirement and allowing him to go on LTIR (which from the reports was what he had intended to go on but was convinced otherwise by the Panthers) . Would you mind linking to those "reports"? Here is one. I believe I also heard it listening to Sportsn...

Re: Canucks Contracts

Yeah, wasn’t calling you asinine. I saw it was a writer from another blog. While I haven't yet had enough time to complete an exhaustive reading to ensure the below proposed transaction would be in compliance with the provisions of the CBA, it would seem there was a way around getting hit with Luon...

Re: Canucks Contracts

Thank God cap space doesn't matter in a rebuild.

Hence, no need to blame anyone for anything.

Not sure how Gillis should be blamed for outsmarting the rulemakers.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

... You can make the argument this isn't the right time to start supplementing the core, you can make the argument that this isn't the right use of the resources, you can make the argument that Miller isn't worth a 1st and a 3rd to the Canucks. But the argument that the Canucks had leverage over th...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

To be honest, I am excited again, I hope we do sign a FA D and move forward. Frack next years 1st round pick, frack 2021 1st round pick, both will be in the 20 - 31 spot. Brock Boeser was a 23rd. Jared McCann was a 24th. So you think JB is likely to regress in his drafting instead of continue impro...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

Apparently, although both of you think JB is a genius, neither of you have as much faith in JB's drafting as I do, because I see it as at least probable that a first round pick by JB (at this point) ends up being substantially better than Miller. It's a lottery-protected pick, so somewhere in Boese...

Re: Canucks Contracts

Hayes will make $7.14M until he's 34, Miller will make $5.25M until he's 30. Two other teams offered the same trade Canucks did (allegedly). Blob will piss and moan forever... Blob is trolling as per usual. It’s a lame comparison, but hey let him play in that sandbox for awhile. So blob prefers the...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

those firsts area not guaranteed good NHL level players. J.T. Miller is a “player” and is “worth” a first, he’s guaranteed. He’s young, signed on a good contract with term. Exactly. Neither is it guaranteed that Miller won't regress or get injured. Nothing is guaranteed. Apparently, although both o...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

What gets lost in this is that there is a difference in a cap dump, Marleau, and in making a hockey trade to move cap, Miller. Yes Tampa needed to move cap but they knew the had Callahan coming off the books so that took a lot of pressure off to just dump a player. And yes, there were a few other t...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

With Callahan on permanent LTIR, Tampa isn't up against the cap like everyone seems to think. Brisebois seemed to think they were "up against the cap" and made the move to clear cap space: "Eventually we were going to have to unload some players and unfortunately today was one of those days. We had...
