Re: Canucks News and Notes
Ya ESQ I'm sorta in between the two positions I guess. I do feel we need to have a season where we let the young guys develop and show us what they have. I also agree that our cap pain may only be for one season as the cap will move upwards again, in a year when 12.2 million comes off the books in ...

Re: Roster Questions
RFA, I believe. Wouldn't mind having him back at the right price, which I don't think will be a big challenge for Gillis.Rumsfeld wrote:Is Weise signed for this season? Every team needs a good fourth-line war horse.
Has speed, some size, just needs to develop between the ears and get better hands.

Re: Canucks News and Notes
I would be shocked if we traded Ballard and got equal value for what we gave up though. At this point the cap space is the value added. Agreed. A couple of mid-round picks and I'm sold. Maybe we see JS as a second line centre and Kesler moved to either the wing or drop back to 3rd line. Lappy won't...

Re: Canucks News and Notes
To me it's clear Edler can more than deliver on his $5m cap hit - that's why he has trade value if the team wanted to change things up. If they don't he's definitely capable of a big year if the team can put him in a position to succeed. As for HW's post I'll say if that's the plan and it doesn't w...

Seen this on HF: DarrenDreger Quote: If Pens lose series in 4 or 5 games the offseason storylines may be interesting. Some think Malkin becomes a trade target. Tough call. Kesler for Malkin? or both Sedins for Malkin? both ufa's after next season :) Imagine a Kesler-Malkin 1-2 punch? Pipe-dreaming ...

Re: CHI v. LA and BOS v. PIT (and Van v. ...Beuller...anybod
I say 1 game max. Dirty Duncan gets away it The Appalachian assassin. He should get the rest of the series. He meant to whack him with the stick. He MEANT to break the rules. Guys that make contact with the head don't necessarily do it on purpose. He's also repeat offender. Torres got suspended for...

Re: The All Important Right Side
I'd love to be proven wrong, but I think Corrado is due for a market correction in his play next season. He may start on the opening lineup, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets sent down to Utica(?) at some point next season. Maybe getting Kostka or Lovejoy as a bottom-pairing option on right D w...

Re: Should Gillis Trade Alexander Edler?
Of course another option is do nothing and hope and pray that the players flip the switch. I thought that was the plan this season? :? The only reasons I would trade Edler over Bieksa is Bieksa actually has an edge to his game (which he frankly should rekindle as I didn't see near enough of it this...

Re: The Fourth Line
Why all the hand wringing over a 4th line player ? If they didn't sign him or qualify him they lose him for nothing. He has 8 points in 57 NHL games. Over a full season that's 12 points which isn't bad for a 4th line player who has proven he will at least throw down with anyone. He may not win them...

Re: Should Gillis Trade Alexander Edler?
I'm not going to reread the thread just to prove to you that the Edler "witch hunt" is a group of on, maybe two posters and that your characterization of the opinions of most others is, as usual, totally off the mark. When you make ludicrous claims the burden of proving them is on you - of course I...

Re: Should Gillis Trade Alexander Edler?
You guys need to make up your mind. Edler is a shitty defenseman but he is so good that he can get us a very good return in a trade. The whole Edler witch hunt kick that some of you are on is ringingly similar to the Bieksa witch hunt from a couple years ago when he was as good as gone prior to the...

Re: Should Gillis Trade Alexander Edler?
The comedy Lance. On one hand you all have been calling out Edler for two seasons now and how shitty he is, YET a good number of you think it's reasonable to suggest that giving up the chance to draft Mckinnon, Drouin and Barkov for Edler is not a bad idea. Do you see why I'm a lunatic sometimes? T...

Re: Should Gillis Trade Alexander Edler?
I trade our first and Edler for Drouin/Mackinnon 10 times out of 10. I like Edler and would like to keep him but you DO NOT pass up a chance to draft a future PPG 18 year old kid who could carry the mail for this team for the next 15 years. I'm not sure I throw in the 1st for Seth Jones however. Ed...
