Re: Brutal stretch coming

fortunately, our home games in that stretch are a walk in the park. Detroit, and then Calgary's home and home series kicks off the seven game trip. But when we get back on Saturday night from the last game in Edmonton, we play Florida the next day. Florida will have been waiting for us in Van...

Seems so. A lot of new faces in both teams within the last 4/5 years...

that was a low-emotion game for sure.
Colorado's 4th line was their best, no one really stood out for us.
Wellwood/Pyatt combo showed flashes.

In my experience, when you "let up a bit", you are the one that gets steamrolled.

Cody representing well in the OHL, too Canucks' first-round draft pick Cody Hodgson was named the Ontario Hockey League's player of the week on Monday. Hodgson, taken No. 10 overall in last June's NHL entry draft, scored five goals and earned four assists for nine points in three games during the we...

Re: Doesn't look good on the Rangers

Fred/Entwonder, While I definitely understand and see your point of view, I still have no problem with what the Rangers are doing. Life is unfair....things can happen that are beyond our control. The Rangers shouldn't be penalized for something that was no fault of theirs. If I was the Rangers owne...

Bobby Lou gets props

Goalies shine in the NHL's players of the week. gott love the score line on #1, but I won't say the word.

1) Roberto Luongo - 3-0-0, 0.00GAA, 1.00s%

2) Steve Mason - 3-0-0, 2.61GAA, .907s% - not a bad way to start his career

3) Brent Johnson - 2-0-1, 1.63GAA, .953s%

Re: Worst "goalie of the future" ever?

What did Ferraro say about Bure? please tell. 'the panel' was talking about if Bure and a bunch of others should make it to the HHOF. the rest of the guys talked about his stats, and how he could make it but in a weaker eligibility year, but Chicken Parm was pretty adamant that the shit he pulled i...

Re: Roberto Luongo Trivia

The tricky one, and the cool unknown record IMHO, is the fact he holds the record for most games and most minutes played in one season at home (41), last year. He played in every home game last year. Cannie that's kind of neat. never thought of it, but yeah I guess he has started every home game in...

if it is "most saves" in a time frame, would the other be "most shots faced" in that same time frame?

Re: Who likes Wellwood now ?

I don't see how you could send him down now. He's basically scored his way onto the roster and would never clear waivers on the way down now. I think when Demitra comes back we have some interesting dilemnas in terms of who you sit. As I've said from the get-go, when we are healthy Wellwood gets 4t...

Re: Who likes Wellwood now ?

I've liked him since his unbelievable goal at the world juniors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfH0jfdf6Ck however, let's not get ahead of ourselves. He is a powerplay specialist (4 of 6 on the PP, with another of those coming two seconds after a penalty expired), and there's not much chance that h...

Re: Worst "goalie of the future" ever?

I don't remember him being the goalie of the future, unless that's a tag we put on all of them before they get sent to graveyard. that's how he was billed by management when we traded for him - it was the Bure trade. And Dave Gagner was not a "throw-in". His 33 games (2 goals) before he retired wer...
