1) Roberto Luongo: Don't get me wrong....I *still* love the guy but .... ... :P I have to agree ...sort of certainly, the Canucks fans have reached a point where there is little trust or faith in Luongo. even the most ardent Luongo lover is hard pressed to deny that when Luongo is off he is way off...

i still think that Edmonton will have our number this year. I think they are a skill team and we are a skill team and we don't play smash mouth enough to cow them kids...

If we set aside all the debates about whether or not Luongo is an elite goalie, worth the money he's paid, or worth his cap-hit ... isn't there at least some credibility to the idea that he is now a full-blown "distraction" for other players, maybe even for management? Surely we can at least agree ...

Honestly I don't see the attraction to the winter classic. You sit a kilometer away from the playing surface, your freezing your own ass off, and you pay more for the gimmicky experience. Schneider may very well be as good in terms of skills and capabilities... And may even be seen as far superior mentally. But seriously... When was the last time you saw a backup goaltender draw the media and fan obsessions? How long after Roberto hypothetically moves along, do you think it would be...

Anyone else notice the almost sarcastic pro-Schneider cheer the first time he was mentioned as the starter yesterday? Interesting... Clearly Luongo was not at fault for anything in the Rangers game. He's only the goalie, and he should only be expected to stop the shots that are played perfectly by the defence. I'm not surprised that people question Luongo's ability to steal games and his ability to take over series in the way Thomas did last year or Roy did in the past... It's a tad disingenuous to mention those two as if it stealing series' is limited to HHOFers and Vezina winners. My mention of HHOFers...
