Just a little after the fact, though...

Did you get picked on a lot in school? ;)

Or LA, since they have space and missed out on Kovy.

When you start holding up Pronger as an example, you've lost me.

Re: Hockey Buzz assement to Nucks propsects

That's probably the most promising look at prospects I've seen for this team. I just hope it's an accurate assessment.

Re: The Hockey News predicts Canucks to win it all

If Byfuglien and/or Ladd and/or Eager go completely unpunished, then to me, it demonstrates a lack of character and intensity amongst the Canucks. Or it demonstrates restraint, as the Canucks will never see Atlanta in the playoffs - ever. What more punishment could you want than to send them to Atl...

Re: Torres Signed

I'm just thinking out loud here - I'm not sure how this would fit under the cap - but since Farhan's not posting anymore... What if we did away with the 'energy line' that is usually made up of plumbers (Hordi, Rypper, Glass, etc) and went with a 4th line that could actually produce some offense (Ho...

Re: WILLIE SIGNS

Good luck to both WM and the Kings. The Kings have the cap space to over pay someone that they want. He'll also be a good mentor - although I think Doughty is past that stage now. Gillis has done a great job of covering his bases, although I wish we had a little more depth in goal in case something ...

Re: Torres Signed

I'm guessing he's insurance that the kids don't work out. And like you said, he fills a roster spot until Burrows come back.

Nothing to lose from this signing. I'm surprised we got him that cheap, too.

Re: The Hockey News predicts Canucks to win it all

From wikipedia: In 1967 Vancouver broke ground for a new modern arena, the Pacific Coliseum. However, when a Vancouver group led by WHL Canucks owner and former Vancouver mayor Fred Hume made a bid for one of the six teams due to join the league in 1967, the NHL rejected their application. Bid leade...

Re: What will Chicago do?

So is that 5mil off their cap? good news for them, Also, be careful when copying text from NHL.com - they have no proof reading skills. ;) Huet appeared in 48 games for the Blackhawks last season, starting the season as the No. 1 goalie. He was 26-14-4 with a 2.50 goals-against average and .895 save...

Re: Gillis to be named GM

I found this thread and was reminded of the doom and gloom when Gillis was hired - so far, things have worked out. (Read the first 2 pages)

What do you think? Is his trial period up yet? What mark would you give him?

Re: Burrows has successful shoulder surgery

That's too bad - but once again, we get some cap space.

Samuellson will fit well on the first, and it opens another spot for Hodgeson and Schreoder.

One or both of those 2 will get a good 1/4 season minimum unless they have a really bad camp.

Good move by GMMG to pick up a free asset - and could be a replacement for Grabner if he pans out.
