Yeah that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 8:14 am No idea how Louie and Schaller are sticking around.
I'm not surprised Baertschi's trade value is zero. He's one hit away from retirement.

Also, Tanev, Markstrom, Schaller, Leivo, Sutter, Pearson, Baertschi, Edler, Benn, and Spooner will be off the books in a year and two. Yeah it's nearly half the roster, but you'll still need to replace the bodies. Two top-4 dmen and a 1B goalie alone could cost upwards of $18M in a couple years.

Re: Canucks Contracts
That’s a great signing for Jimbo. Qualifying him at $7.5 won’t be an issue, ensuring he’s here for four more years. A classic bridge contract. Love it.

Re: Canucks Contracts
It’ll happen part way through the pre season likely towards the end. Once they cut Schaller and Eriksson there will be more than enough cap space. They can also put Roussel on LTIR if they have a longer term deal in mind. The chicken littles running around with their hair on fire is adorable While ...

I’ve been pitching Benn since his last contract in 2016. Nothing fancy, just a hard working Salmon Kings alumni that knows his role and plays it well.

Consensus has Brock, Petey and Miller on the first line - makes utter sense. Those who want Ferland there for deterrence factor may have forgotten that Miller can chuck them as well - he's just not as feared as Ferland but may have more miles on his fists/noggin. I would like to see Pearson, Horvat...

Dude, what will you do without your arch-foil? I mean, you can try starting shit with Reef, but we all know it won’t be the same. It’ Like drinking near beer - most of the calories, but none of the fun. I’m gonna have to figure out how to lure Island Nucklehead back. Raffles just isn’t challenging ...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020
The plan all along was to have Markstrom mind the net untilDemko was ready for the starters job. A few things have made that scenario interesting. 1) Markstrom’s turn around, or more precisely his growing into a confident number one. 2) Demko’s flakiness. There are some concerns but I’d characteriz...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
That’s a horrible deal for Calgary. As a Canucks fan, this is great. We avoid Lucic (even if we have to keep Loui, he’s a better player), and the Flames get slower and shittier.
Neal actually could rebound nicely in Edmonton, but Lucic is done as an effective NHL player.

Re: Offseason grades & Load Management
Edler, Tanev and now Roussel would be best served with load management - not playing in back to back games & other special circumstances those 3 games in 4 nights type of scenarios - or whatever ridiculous scheduling. I think it depends greatly on what injury you're trying to prevent/deal with. Leo...

Re: Offseason grades so far
I'm just spit-balling here, but I'm of the opinion that Tanev should still return a 2nd rounder and a prospect at this point. The idea was to add depth, trading Tanev now doesn't make sense, particularly as Myers isn't the same type of player and Benn can't handle those kind of minutes. As for next...
