Re: Round 1 Discussion (non Canucks)

I'm sure Chicago was holding out the "finger up the anus and into the catering" ploy until the second round... but they must be discussing using it today after last night? And is it Bowman who actually does it, or does he delegate to his assistants?

Re: Canucks Vs Sharks, Round I

Vlasic/Braun are SJ's shutdown pair. They go up against the Sedins I assume. That leaves Boyle/Irwin and Hannan/Stuart for Kesler and Roy. McLellan still matches lines mainly while Vigneault is still prone to zone starts over line matching. Boyle also gets paired with Thornton's line alot. So it wil...

Re: Gills and Vigneault

Drafting outside of the top 5 or 10 spots is a coin flip. The Bruins drafted Lucic, Marchand, Bergeron, Krecji outside of the first round. These four players are core key players for that team. They have a hot prospect named Camara who they drafted outside of the 1st round. Take a look at what the ...

Re: Gills and Vigneault

This summer will be Mike Gillis 6th Draft and Next season will be Mike Gillis 6th season as GM of this team. We better start seeing some results of those 6 drafts next season or his regime will go down as this teams worst in the drafting and developing department. In Nonis 3 short years as GM, so f...

Re: Beware of Fading Coilers

Part of the problem in Edmonton and Canada at large is expectations and/or hype. Hockey's so big in Canada, fans become prospectophiles. It a new hobby. It's great fun to pretend you can spot talent and dream about what the future might hold. An 18 year old is drafted high, so he must he a "young ta...

Re: Beware of Fading Coilers

From the press conference.... •MacTavish references the Oilers' five Stanley Cups when asked about how the group that made the mess that Tambellini couldn't clean up is going to do a better job than Tambellini did. That was a long time ago. •MacTavish says he doesn't know that he's ever failed the o...

Re: Beware of Fading Coilers

I don't know what's sadder/funnier. 1. Tambellini was on Oil Change this weekend for the trade deadline show. He was trying to trade his third rounder. The public is laughing at him as he doesn't have a third rounder. 2. What with all this supposed burgeoning talent this season, the team is still de...

Re: Canucks Call Up Jensen, Kassian demoted

Hodgson is 21st out out 21 Sabres players in even strength goals against per minutes played. And he's played the most minutes of all forwards. There is reason one Buffalo is bad. His points per minute also fall off a cliff when he's not on the ice with Vanek. But hey, he has 13 goals, that would be ...

Re: Canucks Call Up Jensen, Kassian demoted

Not sure where to put this, but Kassian will forever be linked to Hodgson, so I'll put it here. Hodgson is getting time on the 4th line now. http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130331/SPORTS/130339839/1004 That meant Hodgson was centering John Scott and Patrick Kaleta against the...

Re: Canucks Acquire Derek Roy

Roy played mostly with Eriksson this season and Cole since he was acquired. He appears to have been matched up with alot of top 2 lines/and top 2 D pairings this season with his most ice time coming against Carter/Doughty in LA and Tanguay/Wideman/Brodie in Calgary followed by Suter/Gilbert/Bouchard...

Re: GDT - Mar 23 Van @ LA 1:00 PST SNET

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Gillis also got Higgins for a third rounder and got that 3rd rounder back in the Booth trade.

So, you could either say he got Higgins for nothing or Booth/Higgins for Samuelsson/Sturm.

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I think Iginla heard Marchand post game last night whining yet again about Montreal "embellishing" and told Feaster there was no way he could stomach the Bruins' never ending hypocrisy - send me to Pittsburgh. +1 It's pathetic. I watched that game and those fuckers are diving worse than I've seen i...
