Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

The strange thing about Calgary is they have essentially the same team that made the playoffs last season... Out: Byron Glencross (traded at deadline) Diaz In: Frolik Bennett Hamilton Plus they have Giordano back from injury... You'd think that swapping Byron, Glencross, and Diaz for Frolik, Bennett...

Re: 2-1-2 when Leading after Second Period

Maybe it's a small sample size - but when you are leading after two in 5 games, and you end up losing three of them... you are not a good team.

Coaching? Goaltending? Chokers?

Who knows... I guess we'll see.

Re: Tort's to CBJ for 2nd round pick

I think I read somewhere that these three picks can be anytime over the next 3 years, but yeah, this year would be great, would be low 1st rounder basically. Correct. 2016, 2017, or 2018 Draft - Columbus choice. "According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, teams would receive a second-round draft p...

Career Milestones 2015-16

So Henrik is 84 points away from 1,000... Wow! He probably won't make it this season, but I never thought I would see a Canuck in the record books for 1,000 NHL points! Henrik is also likely to pass Linden's 1140 games for the Canucks; he is currently at 1093. Speaking of Canuck games played - Danie...

The Craig Button - Jake Virtanen - Brock Boeser Equation

If you are starting to think that Virtanen might become a slightly more talented version of Raffi Torres, here is some food for thought... Craig Button ranked Virtanen 43rd for the 2014 draft - drastically different than Bob McKenzie (7th), ISS (10th), and Central Scoutting (6th North American skate...

I think an equivalent on the Canucks is Hamhuis - this contract may set the price.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

This is a VERY risky contract. Far too much and far to long for a player whose career year is likely behind him and whose dropoff is likely to be above average. I consider this contract to be a boat anchor. I wonder if he got a NMC too? I can see Flames fans looking at this as a TDL dump next year ...
