Re: crowd chants

Obviously our crowd is louder and more vocal. But are the chants working? The Turco sucking chant is great but the Canucks haven't put one by him in Vancouver the previous two games. It could be having the opposite effect :( No they are not. Chanting turko sucks is STUPID. STOP IT Agreed. Immaturit...

John Wright. Good, smart defensive center and penalty-killer. Wasn't around too long, but a reliable player. Mike Robitaille. Solid veteran defenceman. And OOH! That hipcheck. A master. Lars Lindgren. Solid player who could reliably log a lot of minutes. Was a real asset during the times he wasn't s...

It's all good! And all of this on a dirty smellin' shootout. And that might be the best part. Eliminated by a shoot-out...SWEET! Burned by The Gimmickâ„¢. What a wonderful day. :D And for the record, NJ was under NO OBLIGATION to play Brodeur. The Maple Logs had 6 months to prevent this last s...

Talk about things working out perfectly for the 'nucks! After watching that game today, a series against San Jose, even if the Canucks were to win, would take such an incredible physical toll, they would have been fodder for whoever in the 2nd round. Dallas is an infinitely better opponent for the C...

Yes. Meerschaum has already determined that we are. :(

I had no idea Meersy was so spiritual. But it's always good to add a few more saints to one's arsenal of good fortune. 8-)

The bottom line is probably this:
Nonis got the best defenceman he could without giving up major assets. This was honestly about the best anyone could reasonably expect seeing that DN wasn't going to give up Bourdon/Schneider/Grabner/Edler or a future 1st-round pick.

Just a little update about Grabner from his coach from last night's game in Everett. http://www.network54.com/Forum/40684/message/1171124844/Grabner...+from+the+Seattle+Times Yikes. Not a good sign. If he's unwilling to dig in at the WHL level, what's he going to do when he laces 'em up with the big...

Whoa! I remember going to Canucks games around 1985 when there were (no lie) 8,500 people there. It's happened once, it could happen again. Those who don't learn from history...

Atta boy Gary!
Don't fix the product.
But do put it in an aerodynamic, pretty-looking package.
That works. Maybe some sequined figure-skating blouses to top it all off.
And I keep thinking, what would Bobby Baun and Terrible Ted Lindsay think of this mess?

I have no real problems with most of Nonis' moves so far, taken on a one-by-one basis. My real problem is that he loaded this team up with forwards like Kessler, Cooke, Linden, Green, Chouinard, Bulis, Santala, Burrows, Bouck and Shultz, and expected they would be able to score enough. I am not the ...

Av is doing fine for the time being. Is he the best choice long-term? That's yet to be determined. His only problem is that he's forced to throw too many players of marginal skill out there to put the puck in the net. Blame DN for sandbagging him if you want, but AV isn't the problem.

Alleviate the pressure on a 4th line veteran who plays 8:00 minutes a game? Good gravy! What pressure :?:
