I am not worried about Luongo. Last year he wasn't stellar at the beginning either. I may be wrong on this but I think he is the type that builds over the season. Like Griz said it isn't as if this is his second season. He will be back in good form. I just hope that when he is the rest of the team w...

While I would agree that this team is not playing at the same confident level as the second half of last year, I question the expectation that this team would come out of the starting gate at the same clip it did at the end of the season. Again, what would be the expectation you are asking in refer...

I am going to have to side with the majority on this one, smalien. While I don't necessarily think that it is time to panic, I do think that there are some flaws in the team that are quite apparent and which did not seem to be there last season. This does seem to be cause for some legitimate concern...

Raymond back to the Peg

Listening to the post-game show on team 1040 - heard that he is getting demoted. Hopefully this is just to get him some playing time.

This reminds me of the good old times when crawford was coaching and the team had a penchant for giving up. I thought that was behind us with the "hard-working" "defensively-sound" team that Nonis has built. :|

Wow, how quickly the game changes - thanks Cooke for the Penalty - looks like you are going to get some more time in the press box - which is awesome for 1.5 mil. Arg...

Re: Luongo = future canuck captain?i

As much as I am not on the whole xenophobic bangwagon, after Naslund I don't really see any Europeans on our team that are captain material. For that matter I don't see many North American options either. I guess the only person I could see fitting into that role would be Mitchell as mentioned by MC...

Maybe Vigneault just wants to emphasise defence first and is sending the goal scorers down until the team gets back on the right track. Kudos. After seeing the heading of this post I was going to make a sarcastic remark such as this but you beat me to it. I really don't get AV and never have....

Man I wasn't able to listen to the first two periods of the game but I come in and its 7-2. Wow, could it get any worse - oh yes it could - Kesler gets a cross-check in the face. Great.....

Edit... (See below) Hang your heads boys. This is absolutely atrocious. WOW.

Raymond has one game with the Sedins then gets benched and then gets put on the third line. Wow, that is one thing I really don't like about AV - he never gives anything a decent shot before shuffling it up again. One would think he would at least give the kid 2-3 games with the Sedins before scrapp...

Salo Update

According to TSN Ice Chips, AV says that Salo is "at least a couple of weeks away from returning."

As well said that Edler, although doing some practice, is still bothered by his hip.

Not really sure I agree with keeping both Ritchie and Isbister on the team and sending Rypien down - but only time will tell. Glad to see Raymond getting a chance. Can't really say I am all that expectant, but I am still hopeful.

Also, does anyone know if Hansen is still injured?

As with most of the posts here I do agree that winning is better than losing (at least in the sense of the Stanley Cup). It would seem that we are winning more with our defensive style of game - or is it Luongo? Of that I am not really sure. As we have had both this past year it is difficult to argu...

I know that Ritchie and Rypien are both out with some sort of groin injuries. Not sure who else is injured or when are the respective ETA's of those on the list.
