Re: LaBarbera or Sandford?

MadCombine, I disagree. I think LaBarbera will win out over Sanford. LaBarbera has a different desire than other players, to play for this team and will do almost everything to win. Thats a trait Gillis is looking for, and one that AV is looking for. I think any partial back up who would think he ha...

Re: Luongo's return...

after the last setback, I think his enthusiasm to get back will be tempered by doctors warnings... I think if he's smart enough he'd be tempered by his own concern for his health. Groin injuries are things that stick around with you forever. If Luongo takes care of himself now he can reduce the cha...

Re: Having Trouble w/ Getting Lines Info

The fact that our two best players who cannot be separated only appear with a regular third linemate 4th-most times on our line combos is a testament to Vigneault's constant line-juggling and search for that right winger. How many more games/seasons is he going to tinker with a failing line? I'm go...

Re: The 'Sisters' aren't worth the price

As to Burrows, he is young enough I would attempt to lock him up at 900 to 1.1 for 4 years or so... the chemistry he has with Kesler has him playing like a 2+ million dollar shut down/pest, so 3 years from now, that would be a bargain. I have no problem spending 4 million dollars on out third line....

Re: A few things

It was a boring game in the first. You can't expect the commentators to make a boring game interesting. They just say what they seee, and frankly there wasnt much for them to make exciting.

Re: WHO should the Canucks get with their freed-up cap space?

I think bringing in a top 4 forward to play with the sedins would be great. drop demitra to the second with sundin and wellwood. make your third line hansen kesler and burrows and throw hordichuk alongside johnson pyatt (if he's not dealt as part of getting the forward) that would make for a potent ...

Re: Canucks @ Edmonton - 7pm SNet - Sundin!

I was unimpressed with the boarding calls they let go on Stortini. It's one thing to let a couple penalties go for each side, but we could have had two more injured bodies in the pressbox tomorrow if those hits had been a fraction harder, or lower.

Re: Burke trades for Brad May!

I just liked May because he seemed to have spunk. He went hard at it every night. Even if he saw only 5 or 6 minutes of ice time, he would give'er every night and have fun doing so. I agree he was miscast. I think Burke knows a lot more about him than anyone else and will probably cast him into a po...

Re: Sundin Report

It looked like the players were trying to force something to him. When he had the puck it looked like he was hesitant and somewhat unsure of himself. I realize he's been out for 9 months, only skated a handful of practices, but I really think his return was too hyped. He didnt wow me in the least. H...

Re: A few things

I think anyone you put with Kesler and Burrows would pick up points if the two of them got hot. We'd be praising Hansen right now had he not been sent down. I still hold my position that Hansen should have stayed and Jaffray sent down.

Re: A few things

Wasnt he tried on a line with Kes and Burr earlier in the season? I seem to remember it failing miserably.

Re: Sundin to play against Edm on Wed. - Link

I don't like that they let Mats control them in that respect. I think they should have given him a few more deadlines. He only wanted to miss the first half of the season because of the ridiculous road trips. If he can't handle that, hows he going to handle another 7 game series against Dallas?

Re: Burke trades for Brad May!

This is similar to Burke dragging Bertuzzi around with him. I'm surprised Brad May still has a job, Burke obviously sees something in him. He tends to see May quite heavily in the Veteran light.
