Re: Henrik Sedin - best passer.... ever?

And if Lindros's head was not as fragile as Sid's, he would be part of this discussion too, so Sid's head is happening, and is totally relevant. Exactly. Longevity/durability are skills that, in my own opinion, set somebody apart as an all-around great hockey player. Gretzky had it, Hank has it, wh...

Canada's goalie just saved a penalty shot. Still 2-0.

Re: World Juniors 2012

2-0 for Canada so far in the bronze game. Looks like they'll get some medals after all.

Re: Henrik Sedin - best passer.... ever?

In todays game Gretzky would have lasted a few short years and then retired with a concussion. When the Great One played HE HAD A BODY GUARD. No one went near Wayne for fear of Semenko and then McSorley. If those two didn't get you the Refs did as the league edict was "no one touches him!" Can you ...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I think the Canucks should try to trade for Max Friberg, leading goal scorer (tied with Stone) at the current WJC, as a way to keep the heated rivalry with the Flames going. After scoring in the shootout against Switzerland he decided to do the riding the stick celebration he'd seen on EA Sports NHL...

Re: World Juniors 2012

When Finland won their second World Championship gold of all time last spring, they issued a stamp featuring the 19-yo Mikael Granlund's lacrosse style goal against Russia: http://gonepuckwild.com/files/2011/05/1142721-max555x555.jpg Last night in the penalty shootout Sweden scored on their first tw...

Re: World Juniors 2012

All in all, my prediction is that just as the skilled Russians couldn't handle Sweden in the long run, they may get an early lead against Canada, but won't be able to hold on to it. My money is on Canada. I think my pre-game analysis was fairly spot on, with the Russians getting a lead and then Can...

Re: World Juniors 2012

Life is unfair! Shots are 34-13 in Sweden's favour after two periods, but Finland is ahead 2-0!

Oh, well, there's still twenty minutes left!

Re: "Just take the abuse" game plan

Kesler will ge the C in time. No need to rush it. Assumption 1: The Canucks had their best season ever last season. Assumption 2: It was quite an improvement over previous seasons. Conclusion: Clearly they must be doing something right. Just because you don't hit the jackpot at your first attempt do...

Re: I wonder...

I also don't really care much about the juniors, seen it so many times that it is boring. If it was in Europe and more teams or more difficult for the Canadian team then maybe. regular season of the Canucks - who cares really, I want to see how they do the playoffs now and anything short of a 3rd r...
